Apple Users BEWARE! New Virus Attacks Mac...

A computer virus, thought to be the first to attack Apple’s Mac OS X operating system, has been identified by internet security companies.

The Leap-A, or Oompa Loompa, virus is a potentially malicious program that is disguised as a simple image file. Experts are worried that its discovery will prompt hackers to mount the first serious campaign againt Apple users.

Oh, it's only spread throught the iChat program; luckily, I haven't launched that program yet (even though I have an iSight). STUPID :banghead: STUPID :banghead: Well, actually, now I seem smart :angel: :60:

From the Site: Sophos said that the program forwards itself to as a file called "latestpics.tgz" to contacts on the infected users' contacts list. The file then disguises its contents with a JPEG graphic icon in a move designed to fool people into thinking it is harmless.

it is only contracted through iChat, so if you don't use it, or at least don't open any unknown files, you should be ok. Go Macs!

Now there's a worm that takes advantage of Bluetooth on Macintosh Computers. The House of Mac is going to crumble with a new onslaught of malicious programs.
