Vaccaro's to offer 50-cent cannolis

For two days this month, consider taking a break from your diet.
Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop, a Little Italy cornerstone, is offering dessert fans a sweet deal on March 15 and March 16, with 50-cent treats at its six locations. The price break for cannolis, cakes and other pastries is in celebration of the store's 50th anniversary. The deal applies to espresso drinks as well.
The 50-cent menu items include the following:
* Large filled cannoli
* Rum, chocolate hazelnut, cannoli and chocolate cannoli cake slices
* Tiramisu
* Cheesecake
* Cookies
* Mini cream puffs
* Gelato (Italian ice cream)
* Espresso, cappuchino and lattes
But don't get too greedy: There is a limit of two per person, per day.
Besides Vaccaro's flagship Little Italy store, its other Maryland shops are located in Harborplace, Owings Mills Mall, and Westfield Annapolis. The pastry shop has two Washington, D.C., outlets, in Union Station and on Pennsylvania Avenue, near George Washington University.
The Baltimore Business Journal reported in the March 3 print edition that Vaccaro's is opening two more stores this spring, one in Canton Square and another at the Market House in Annapolis.
