you will be screwed if you would know that the rebates cannot be combined and staples uses rebateshq.com to process their rebates

there sites are identical

NOTE: the $10 bonus rebate is also handled by rebatedhq.com

Just so everyone knows, if you purchase direct from Belkin, you can get 50% off anything you buy there by using the code 12345. This applies to all belkin products. Put an item in your cart and the price gets halved.

would this not be a deal even if you just got the $40 rebate?
Making it $20

Well the $40 rebate is certainly valid but it states that no other promotions can apply. If they are both going to the same fulfillment house then won't the second one be shot down?

Short answer, probably not.

When it comes to Parago, the left hand seldom if ever knows what the right hand is doing.

As for the extra $10, that's a real YMMV deal but the two main $40 and $20 would probably go through fine if done as instructed.

Note that if one only wants to do the $40 rebate, keep in mind with tax this will be about $23 AR. I checked fleabay and one can buy it off ebay for about $25 shipped, $30 max, brand new in the box and bypass the rebate altogether<G>

One other point, this is a "B" protocol access point not the newer "G" standard. These B devices are slated for obsolescence. Still they are plenty fast for most users.

But for FAR who can complain...

yeah, but $4+ tx.

Thing is, few people need it cause most routers do wired & Wireless.

Yeah, most routers include wireless access, but my 10-dollar Belkin FD-5231-4 router does not, so I think this "free" WNAP will nicely complement my same-brand router. It only puts out 50mW of power to the airwaves, but I think that should work okay in a small apartment like mine. Plus I just got a 15-dollar coupon in my email from Staples so I can get some other goodies, too!

Thanks for the deal...I'm gonna go check out Staples store tomorrow, and if they don't have it there, I'll just order it online.

I bought the wireless access point...it works okay, makes a little rapid "clicking" sound when it is plugged in, and this is in sync with the wireless activity light, so I think it's normal.

Question about the rebates: I asked the lady at the register and she said I have to send the ORIGINAL UPC code for the Staples rebate. However, Spoofee's instructions show that you send the ORIGINAL to Parago directly, and the COPY to Staples/Parago.

Has anyone tried this before? Wouldn't want to lose out on one rebate because of the other.

Nowhere, and I mean NOWHERE either for instore or staples.com does it say the $40 rebate needs an original UPC or technically, even a copy, although I'd send one to be safe. FOLLOW the terms exactly depending on if you bought in store or online.

For the $20 manufacturer's rebate at rebateshq.com it states:

Please attach the following information to the mailable form on Step 7:
• Original UPC
• Copy of Purchase Receipt

So, again, as stated by the OP, you use the original UPC and a copy of the receipt for the $20 rebate, and the original receipt and a copy of the UPC for the $40 rebate.

Unless this employee is the rebate coordinator at staples corporate, the terms of the $40 staples rebate do not require ANY kind of upc symbol, yet alone an original.

Sounds good to me...funny, the store seems more concerned about the receipt being original than the UPC code! Well time's a wasting so I better get that sent on out. Can't beat free!

Thanks for the information.

I can't access to get Rebate2 form today. Anybody got the rebate2 form already? I need the form to send my rebate. Thank you.

This WAP requires a port on a router in order for it to work properly...it doesn't work "wirelessly" as some are lead to believe. I thought initially that it would be used as a repeater, to strengthen a signal, but it doesn't function like that unfortunately.

Only use is for connection to an existing ethernet network (wired) or to a router. Doubtful many would have a use for it.

There is some confusion over wireless terms which is understandable. This is clearly labelled as a "wireless access point",not a wireless adaptor which is what you may have thought it was. This is used for making a standard cable modem style connection wireless. Anyone with a wired cable modem would use this. It turns your wired connection into a broadcast connection. It is a highly useful device.

A repeater is a different device and is called such. I'll just toss in another term -print server - without explanation.

A wireless adaptor connects your laptop or remote desktop to the network

You can also use 2 of these things to connect to each other...instead of running wires to the end of the house, you can connect a "wired" network to one, and then another "wired" network to the other one. In that way, they will communicate with each other.

Mainly I got it because I didn't want to junk my functioning non-wireless router yet. I like putting together stuff and this seemed cool to have another gadget on my desktop. Also it has 2 antennas unlike some of the cheapo routers that only have 1, so that might help distance some.

Figured I'd go ahead and comment for now. :)
