Quality.

- 3-way magnesium ultrasmooth alloy pan head features a rubber platform

To average people with a camera, its probably not worth it. But to a photographer, it is.

Its kinda like asking why spend so much on a Mercedes when a Kia will get u there too. lol

If you think this is expensive, check out gitzo tripods ....

For the pro photographer or pro wanna be, they might be looking for different attributes in a tripod, weight, sturdiness, build, materials etc.. When you are using a $5000+ buck cameras, $200 bucks is not a bad investment for a sturdy tripod that will protect your camera....

holy crap are you damn IGNORANT. Hmmm, lets put a dslr and lens combo that weighs 5lbs on that POS aluminum tripod you prolly got for $10 and see what happens. The second the wind blows your camera and lens that cost 30x as much as your $10 tripod are on the ground. Who's the tool now? You obviously have no clue about photography besides probably owning a kodak p&s so why don't you keep your ignorance to yourself...
