Viking's rebates are handled by CTG, aka www.rebatestatus.com who handles rebates from Dell, Kingston, etc. I've submitted many to them and they're very fast and I've had no problems with them. They're about the best I've seen.
The only problem I've had with them is the discrepancy with New Age Electronics over the $50 HP printer rebate, but that's a big misunderstanding with New Age and not the CTG company.
Go ahead, their rebates are very reliable.

BUY.COM does occassionally have their own buy.com sponsored rebates, ones that aren't manufacturer rebates, but those are rare and indeed this viking rebate is handled by CPG.
CPG's repeated incompetency handling kingston promotions when one submits two rebates not withstanding, for one rebate submission per offer number promotions they are actually quite good, so even though I'm not a CPG cheerleader persay, I'd say take the plunge. If you have a problem, a fax will usually remedy it.

Yeah, I find CPG to be on the top shelf of the rebate companies though, I think they're pretty good, and their tracking site is nice and it's easy to understand.
I have two Kingston rebates going with them for $45 total, two CompactFlash ones mailed in the same envelope for $30, and one SD rebate for $15. Both have processed for $15 and $30 and everything looks well, I think the key is that you have to mail them in the same envelope. It shows it as being the $15 Kingston promotion, but the rebate amount listed is for $30.

sent in rebate for a fuji camera $15 and $15 sent all required info original receipt in one, copy in other, barcodes as well. Recieved two post cards claiming no sales receipt were sent. Sent them an email on rebatestatus, waiting for reply. All requested info was definitely sent to them.
