I am currently deciding between the Sony Cybershot DSC-T50 and the Canon Powershot 800IS.

Please let me know how you like the camera if you own one of them :) Thanks!

Also, if you're bored, see if you can find the DSC-T50 in black for < $350

To me, anything with the name Sony means you are going to be paying more for any of their items over comparable items just because it says Sony on the product.

This I noticed and learned a few years back when I was shopping for computers, dvd players, tvs, and home sound systems.

Don't have that exact Canon, my camera is a Canon and my brother has had several Canon cameras (he has a tendency to lose things) and all of them have worked really well. I know a few other people who've had Canon cameras and they love them too.

Its easy to use and my pictures come out really nice.

I will never buy a camera other than a Panasonic Lumix. Ive used Nikon, Canon, Samsung, Casio, and Sony digis and I am brand loyal to the Lumix. My friend has a Canon A640 and he really likes it, plus you can hack the firmware to make it shoot raw, intervals, all kinds of fun stuff. I think you can hack all of the Powershot A-series models.

For those of you interested, http://www.hackaday.com/2007/05/06/powershot-firmware-hacking/

steves-digicams.com has a lot of great info, but theyre not a dealer or a deal site for that matter.

Trust me, I've done all the reading at Steve's, I know the capabilities of each camera, they're very similar in that regard. Now I'm more interested in actual owners opinions. I've been on Amazon and Cnet reading user reviews, but I figured I'd ask here too.
