Well, I see this has pretty good reviews on Newegg, but does anyone here have personal/firsthand experience with this camera...or a camera in this 'family' of cameras? I think I might have to buy this....I'm so unsure!

i have a sd 550... 7.2 mega pixel...

i really like it... other then the screen size it was nice. I like the next gen of digital cameras where the screen is the whole backside of the camera

I love canon.. i think they are the best digital camera makers.
ive had pentax sony kodak and olympus and canon are the best hands down IMO.

Im not too sure about the SD1100 but my brother has the SD1000 and the lag was horrible and the pictures were blurry.

The SD830is that my sister has is purely amazing and the SD400 that i have is old but still beats my new sony w80 anyday.

id recommend going to a store to try it out before buying. I think newegg charges 15% restocking fee.

Canon reigns supreme

I have an SD400 as well, and I've found no compelling reason to upgrade...until now. My Canon shoots amazing pictures and has a litany of custom manual settings (if that's what you're into). If you're seriously in the market, I don't think you can do wrong with this.

my g/f has a sd630... sleek black and a big ole screen on the back.. i really like her camera.

i mean you are of course going to get the blurry moving shots and not enough light for concert photos. You need a like slr or soemthing.. Which i want to buy soon.

Where this SD1100 IS were made ?

According to the pictures from Newegg, the bottom one showed the factory label saying "Made in Japan".
I bought my SD1100 IS from Dell about 2 months ago, and it was made in China; it still performs nice...
