looking for a cd changer for a car , basic model

no one , ok anyone got tips on what i shud buy

Sony has always been a solid player in car CD changers. To tell you the truth, most CD changers are the same anyway unless you get into fancy MP3 ones, so I'd just buy according to price.

What kind of radio is it going to be hooked up too? Is it a aftermarket radio, if so who makes it and how old is it.

no no i want like a 1 cd car system , the car i bought only has a tape and fm radio , and i want to change it

I see. You said CD changer, like trunk changer.

If you wanted to do it the cheap way, you could always get a casette adapter which would preserve the quality the best and use a portable CD player. Another option is an FM transmitter, like the Belkin one, although you'll probably lose some quality there unless your car's antenna is really strong. You could connect either to a portable CD player or an MP3 player. What's great about my car is that it has a headphone jack input right on the front so I can plug in my Dell DJ directly with a cable from the player to the car. It's funny because the car is a 1992 model, I don't know why it has the feature.

Yeah, a casette adapter or an FM transmitter will do the trick if you want to get off cheap. I think the casette adapters are like $15, and the FM transmitters, to get a good one are about $30. I think Belkin makes the best of both.

hmm erik any idea how much it would cost and where i should look for a single cd playing system , u know the full unit

Let me see what I can do and I'll get back to you.

god i wish you posted a little bit earlier. I just sold my sony xplod headunit and xplod 6cd changer combo on ebay. I would have rather helped someone out here :banghead:

ha ha how much did u get for it , will tell u i it was in my budget , thanks anyway jl

I sold both for $110 + shipping. Both in great condition and worked very well as a team :-D

actually it looks like the guy who bought the head unit isn't gonna pay :banghead: but i don't think you'd want it.. its a self amplified unit CD Changer controller, but doens't actually play CDs itself, only cassettes. You'd need to get a CD changer if you wanted 2 play cds so it doesn't really matter i suppose.
