I have a good combo that should help. I have found that you always get the best deal by booking online. Plus you can use a coupon for the car rental place. There is often times an online code printed on the coupon you can use for extra off. (We rented a car for 5 days in LA/Beverly Hills for only $36! The car rental agent was awed by our amazing final price.) One good place to find car rental coupons is the Entertainment book but also look in the Sunday coupon section in the newspaper and don't forget looking online for coupon codes. If the car rental website has a free club you can sign up for you will sometimes get express check-in when picking up your car. This comes in very handy near airports. Hope this helped.
