check website

I just bought one this afternoon. Go to this Circuit City
website and enter your zip code. 10001(New York City)
is used as an example. At least 6 out of 10 stores in that
area currently show 60GB Playstation consoles in-stock.
(as of 9:50PM EST)

In New York City, zip code 10001 area:

In Beverly Hills, CA, zip code 90210 area:

I checked the website before I went. The store clerks in
the video game dept didn't even know about it. However,
the warehouse guys knew and immediately sent me to
customer service counter. There were 17 of them behind
the counter. All of them were 60GB PS3 units. It was
limited to one unit per person.

Good luck! :)

Someone gave me those links earlier today, which is why
I was able to buy a 60GB PS3 this afternoon... (after failing
to get one during Amazon's 4-hour window)

By the way, how did know your local Circuit City had 15
in stock? :) The website only shows in-stock or not....

I called before going. I figured, if they only had 2 or 3, the 15 minute drive to get there might be too long for it to still be there when I arrive. It was really for my husband and I didn't want him to be heartbroken if it got sold out within minutes of getting there. They still had a lot when they rang up mine and the sales associates themselves were surprised they had gotten so many.

I read lat month that Sony was going to be putting 800,000 out around Dec 27th. But I wonder why they waited.

I went back to the same Circuit City store where I bought
my 60GB PS3 yesterday. I got a couple of other games.
The sales associate who was helping me yesterday asked
me how I liked my PS3. I love it, of couse. :) He told me
they still had several 60GB PS3 left if I was interested. (!)
11 60GB PS3s, to be exact.... The store was packed both
yesterday and today, and yet they couldn't sell all the PS3s?

What's wrong here... a month ago, I couldn't even fight
my way into a store to get a PS3, now they're just sitting
idle behind the counter?

After I came home, I went to the Circuit City website(link
in my original post), and noticed that at least 4 out of 7
store near me still showed "in-stock" 60GB PS3....

Yes I just got one yesterday they had 15 in stock. If you guys don't get one and have a Best Buy nearby get there tommorow morning to grab a ps3 ticket they should have 20+ 60gb in stock. Best buy is opening early tommorow for New Years Eve. Good luck!:bigok:

Not sure people knew they had PS3s. When I got there, I went straight to the Video Games section and was told all consoles were at the Customer Service counter. So unless people were actually looking for it, they wouldn't even have known they were available and just assumed that they were out. I checked the local store where I bought ours yesterday and they're now out of stock. It pays to check Spoofee!!! :)

Sony said they would put out 800,000 units around Dec 27th & they did.

Guess so... in my area at least, all 10 of the nearest Circuit City stores, as well as two BestBuys still have plenty of PS3s in stock. Strangely, all are the 60GB units.... I guess Sony figured nobody really wants the 20GB units? If Sony did indeed put out 800,000 units this time, I personally think that it's a bad strategy...

still available at 3 out of 10 Circuit City stores... depending
on the zip code. :)

Yup! Prior to my getting one from Circuit City, I had bid on one on ebay for $650 plus shipping but lost out to another bidder. Well, lo and behold. Seller messages me today to second-chance offer me the PS3 since the winning bidder didn't pay for the console. Guess he found out he could buy it at the store for less and ditched ebay! Oh well.

I don't know why anybody would buy it from Ebay right now. In most major cities, you can find at least 2 or 3 Circuit City stores with 60GB PS3s in-stock for the next few days. Unless you live in a small town, then there's really no reason to get one off Ebay.

just came back from lunch... the Circuit City next to the
mall still had more than 11 PS3s in stock(all 60GB). they
got 25 in last Thursday and only managed to sell 14.... :(

only available at 2 out of 10 New York City area Circuit City stores as of 1/3.

saw a bunch at target tonight. i wonder if my 10% off coupon they sent will work if i break down and get one.
