Hey yall,

QVC has a Craftsman 248 piece Mechanics' Tool Set for $191.64 + $11.72 shipping. Sears has the same set for 299.99. If you purchased everything in the set separately you would pay $798.31. I bought this set a few day's ago and I cant wait to get it, my first real set of tools. They are Craftsman tools and being so, they have a life time warranty. If you ever break anything you take that piece back to Sears and they will give you a new piece, for life. No questions asked, no receipt needed. My father purchased a tape measure about 25 years ago from Sears and it's a Craftsman. He has taken it back three times over the years because it has worn out. They replaced it with a brand new one.

The set contains: Three drive sizes: 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2"; 153 standard and metric sockets; two spark plug sockets in 3/8" drive; deep sockets in 1/4" and 3/8" drives; a quick-release ratchet in each size; an extension bar in each drive size for hard-to-reach areas; 26 combination wrenches with 12 standard 1/4" through 7/8" and 14 metric 6mm through 19mm; screwdriver capability for Phillips, slotted, and torx applications; nut driver capability for standard and metric sizes; 40 hex keys with 20 standard and 20 metric.

Still it doesn't seem like a great deal. Not bad though. Let us know how you like it.

Kragen has a 159 piece set for $39.00 in a case. I prefer craftsman though.

Hey There,

Craftsman may seem expensive, but when you figure the tools have life time not questions asked warranties they are well worth the price of them.

sounds great, I'm going to try my luck with price matching at sears though... last I remember, they were one of the only retailers that pricematch web sites ^_^ figure its worth a try and I need tools anyway for a project car :)

thanks alot
