Tiger Direct NEVER pays rebates unless you send them registered mail. They're crooks.

I love tiger direct (as there is an "outlet" store very near my home/work), but I have to concur with jdurbin, their rebates are 2nd to none at sucking.

I have no less than 10 emails from OnRebate (their scam-rebate company) telling me everything from my rebate was not valid to the check is on the way, etc. One of the worst is that the receipt has to match the rebate (understandable to prevent fraud), but in my case I went into the store and the idiot (with the 3rd grade education) misspelled my street name. When I submitted the rebate, OnRebate denied the check because the address was not the same as on my rebate form & receipt. The difference you ask Barnbage vs. Bainbridge (big deal if shipping, not a big deal if picking up in store).

For those of you who may say that TigerDirect guarantees their rebates, that is just downright laughable. They could care less and even when you go into the Office and ask to speak to someone their response is that you have no proof that you mailed in the rebate nor that they received it.

The real price of this deal is $179, or get it elsewhere (thenerds.net) $153 shipped.

I'll have to put my 2 cents in on tigerdirect and their rebates. I have done lots of computer rebates over the past several years, probably in excess of $25K in the past 5 years and no one even comes close to tigerdirect/onrebate as far as not paying. Tigersdirect's guarantee is a joke, they do absolutely nothing. If you do a tigerdiret rebate and get burnt, don't cry, everyone is warning you.
