I picked up a couple of these last time they were free. Pretty cheap devices, but considering what you pay...USB is 1.1 and the 640x480 resolution is for snapshots onlly -- video is 352x288. I have not hooked mine up yet, but I assume it works.

Cool, the offer is back. I got mine last time. Stil haven't received my rebate as it hasen't been long enough, but the webcam isn't too bad.

This is my first and only webcam so I dunno what to compare it to. THe quality isn't very good but it's fine for the price of free. The software on my computer freezes for half an hour when I press to record video, so about 30 minutes later it starts recording without telling me. Heh.

It's good for free though.
I hope my rebate comes.


Oh, and it also comes with a little earpiece with a microphone, which I guess is ok.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as Joe Mama. For the price (mail in rebate means it cost me 41 cents) it's worth it. I got it to have a second cam, and that's exactly what I got. If you really want to message people, or do some heavy use, wait around for a better one to come up. You can eventually get the better cams for around $10 after rebate. In the meantime, this one works on my computer, and it's cheaper than dirt.
