CC has in their ad this week a Centon PC2100 512MB stick for $35 after rebates.

Circuit City.

I've bought Centon before and it worked for what I needed it for.

That Centon is ONLY PC2100 not the Crucial PC2700

I'd rather stick with Crucial...

Is Centon any good ?

Centon does a decent job on their memory modules.
I bought PC100, PC133, PC2100 CENTON mems constantly in the past few years, and they all worked good!
I have found Centons at CIRCUIT CITY (in store) with top-notch brand mem-chips on them (Micron, Infineon & Mosel Vitalic) and I used these for overclocking with excellent results!

The fun part of it is (at the store) you could find on the same shelf a CENTON memory module made with Micron chips aside of another CENTON made with Hynix chips!

Bottom line... good memory for regular PCs!
(for overclocking hand-pick at the store )

but this deal would go off to Crucial... Crucial is a better memory stick with a PC2700 rather than a PC2100..

FOr a 512 MB Chip set, wouldn't you pay $5 more for more speed? I mean from 266mhz to 333mhz

If your system is only a 266 FSB and only takes PC2100, does it matter?

Yes, I know Crucial is better memory.
