I ordered 2 for $14.... my brother has always wanted an mp3 player, yet he never has that many mp3s.... and i think this is expandable....
 
I've been scouring the web for info on the product, but can't find much of anything. The only things i've learned: Dream Quest appears to be a Korean electronics manufacturer (e.g., breathalyzers and digital voice recorders) and according to epinions, Newport News had this product listed at $119 until today.

:confused:

At < $10 the risk is minimal, so I'm going to try one for my wife.
 
anyone know if you can see the song being played, like an id3 display or similar?
 
I was getting ready to buy one. When I put all my info. at the last step and click complete order the browser took me to the "your cart is empty countinue shopping" screen. So now I will have to wait and see if it went through my CC...I didn't get no conf. # so this makes me wonder...has anyone had this happen?
 
I just ordered 1, it came out to be $10.15. I did receive a confirmation # as well.
 
This is only a 16mb mp3 player. It can fit about 4 songs. Its not worth it.
 
Newport News advises that they're back-ordered until Janaury 25th. But hey it's a small price to pay, and it'll work for the kids!! The expandable card sounds good!

Four songs? defenitely not worth it then. I hope my order didn't go trough. I bet the expandable card cost more then the player.

You can pick up a 256Meg SD card for around $70. That will hold around 64 songs - or just over $1 per song. Not bad if you ask me.

Just found some information on this player. It's call the mpWow player from C-One Tech. Here are some basics: http://www.epinions.com/pr-C-One_Tech_Mpwow_MP3_Player/display_~full_specs

According to that site, the memory is only expandable to 32Meg. Or about 7 to 8 songs. But according to this site: http://hardware.dmusic.com/details.php?id=70 memory is expandable to 64Meg (about an album or songs).

But hey - the damn things around $10 with shipping. Add a MMC or SD card for a few $$ and it's still the cheapest mp3 player you'll find.

Is there a Discman type player that reads mp3s off of CDs? I think that would work better. But considering the max memory size card the player can use, seems a regular CD Discman would still blow it away in practicality. Of course the mini iPods are coming for $99, with 2GB of storage.

anytime you have moving parts you know its going to drain the battery faster though. plus the mini discs are pretty pricey atleast for me. I remember I was going to buy one of these about a year to a year and a half ago for $200. now I can get one for dirt cheap.

Newport has bunch of other items for $5 dollars each - The more you order, the less the shipping is - I ordered 4 floor cushions for $5 each and shipping was only 3.95 - It is great item for gift giving, house warming etc - I ordered 5 mp3 players - great for teenagers and some home bedding - try it out before it expires
 
It is not bad.

Even the memeory expandable is limited to 32 meg only.

32meg + 16 meg(Original) = 48meg
48meg memory can store around 12-14 songs which depend on the compression setting of your song.

It is not bad for you wearing this MP3 go to GYM or biking.
If it can expnadabe t 64meg, it will be cool.


64Meg SD is around $25.
