Spoofee, this sounds incredible, but the rebate info from your link gives me this:

We’re sorry we are unable to locate your rebate offer. Please check your information and try again or contact us at Customer Service.

Same thing from the website. Maybe they got wise to this?

Ok, quick update - I went to the local Office Max and the rebate does print out at the register, so you don't necessarily have to find it online. Now let's hope the pricematch part next week will be ok... :hmm:

By the way - the printer does not come with USB or Parallel cables, so you have to get those separately.

This one is so tempting. Wish I had more money right now.

Just did some research from OfficeMax.com and found the following information that makes this deal much less attractive:

Other Discounts: Available coupons and rebates will be deducted from the OfficeMax price to come up with a new OfficeMax price when calculating the price match. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $10 rebate, the net price is $90. If the item is available from another company for $90 or more, there will be no price match. Another example would be if you buy an item from us for $139 and you have a $30 coupon; the net price is $109. If the item is available from another company for $105 the price match will be for $4.60 (115% of the difference).

Yeah, I'm done spending money right now until I get some rebates. I have two Seagate hard drive ones coming, a $100 one overdue from Dell, and now two more from the HP 7660 the other day.

Plus, OfficeMax closed near me in King of Prussia, so the closest is out in Springfield which is a bit too far, plus the pricematch would be impossible to get back there for.

I'll pass on this one, even though a laser printer would be nice. I'm too lazy for in store deals. :P

PS. Well, I think my last thing for a while will be a new Motorola V180 cell phone in addition to my Sony Ericsson T616. :D

I've been rebating for several years but still a newbie at price matching. This one is too good to pass up. The Minolta 1350 is constantly offered with an $80 rebate for the last 2 months. I have the older model 1250 which I got for $50 AR. It is terrific and still going strong on the original cartridge.

If OfficeMax refuses the price match I will simply say to the clerk " ok I understand if you can't do this price match, therefore I want to return the printer instead..."

How much should I auction this on Ebay for? $75?

Is it still going to work if I order it online. Do they picematch online orders?
Also I dont see any AD. Can you post a link or a picture.

Ack!! Spazntwitch, are you serious? Oh man! I hope they won't hassle me about the price match. Also, they handed me a free crappy paper shredder when I bought the printer, as part of the deal. I didn't think about it at the time, but maybe when I go back for the pricematch they will say that it's actually not a fair pricematch since they sold me a "bundle" and Staples just has the printer? Eep... I'm starting to see another train ride to the Brooklyn OfficeMax in my future :(

I don't think Price Match is going to work on this one. You can order it on line and get the $80.00 Rebate and the 19.98 shredder. I'm sure that they will tell you exactly what spazntwitch said in post above. If you don't mind a couple of trips to officemax it's worth a shot, you may get a Manager that just doesn't care.

How to pricematch?

I might be willing to give this a shot since Officemax is on my way home from work. How exactly do you pricematch this? Do you need a printed Staples ad, or can you show them the online price? Also, will the Staples price be $99.99 after rebate or without rebate? Also, is officemax's rebate on this printer still valid today, Sep 20th? Thanks.

Sorry if this should be a separate topic, but do you guys buy rebated items for re-sell? I'm just wondering since I see a lot of items in eBay without UPC code being offered. I don't see it as viable business (even a small one), but I might be wrong

I understand that things listed in Spoofee can suddenly transform to be my needs (that I may question later :) And this is baaadddd... I still have 1 extra hard drive that I haven't used yet!

Good luck everyone!! I hope we'll all have success stories on this deal :)

I don't think that you can try and get the pricematch until the 26th, isn't that correct?

Will they price match to the printed image attached above (thanks for it!) or must we stop by Staples and pick up the actual flyer?

I think this is an advance copy of the flyer, so don't print this and bring this to the store yet! Staples won't have that price until the 26th, so the best bet would be to get their flyer then and bring it to Office Max.

And yes, it would probably be a good idea to bring the actual flyer - as people have posted, Office Max may already smell something fishy, so you don't want to raise any more flags with a home-printed version.

And here's the final kick-in-the-nads...a max of only $55!...not $94

OM Policy:

"If you find a lower price at any office product superstore on a new identical item, just show us the lower price when you buy the item at OfficeMax or within 14 days after your OfficeMax purchase and we'll give you 115% of the difference (up to $55.00)."

You can buy this printer this week, and get the flyer from Staples next week and do a BVG with the American Express card.. So simple.. since the Officemax rebate prints out after the receipt.. What you guys think? That is what I plan to do..
