I am hooked on Dexter. Two hour season finale this Sunday...no phones, no computers and ordering a Pizza. I don't get Showtime and now I'm sooo bummed!:teeth:

(what does that say about us...freebies & serial killers? There's got to be a link. lol
 
What a great post, lmhilly! My husband and I LOVE Dexter! Right now we are wondering if Dexter and the Ice Truck Killer will turn out to have the same father or else how could the ITK know so much about Dexter's past!! Ah, this is how I use what few brain cells are left working on a Sunday evening!!;)

Hey thanks! This is great. I'm gonna start watching this series soon (on DVD). One of the my kids in a youth group I used to lead plays the teenage Dexter in the flashbacks... I promised him I'd watch!
 
I, too, love this show! I had read a lot of the reviews prior to its airing on CBS and wondered what all the hype was about--now I know! Great writing, editing, and oh, yeah, I love that he actually kills the bad guys! Too bad it'll be over for me this Sunday, as we do not get Showtime.

pat, we don't get Showtime either but rumor has it that this has done SO well on CBS that they will air season two as a midseason show just like this one did~I am keeping my fingers crossed!

:verysad: After reading in a number of places how well "Dexter" did for CBS ratings this past season, they have now decided not to air it on CBS again this year...and I am too broke (or is that cheap?) to pay for additional cable channels to see any more......:verysad:

Mickey: According to CBS prez Nina Tassler, no. During the TCA press tour, she called the cable-to-network re-editings and -airings "an interesting experiment," but not one they are likely to repeat."

I got my friend who has showtime to start tapping season 2 for me. I gave her 3 tapes and sent her on her way so each time we meet for lunch she'll give me a few episodes to watch. Hopefully you'll be able to find a friend who has showtime:ohwell: At least I'll be able to get my serial killer fix once a month now.LOL

Actually, I've been meaning to watch this -- I'm usually a fan of dark shows like this (Ever watch "Dead like me" also on Showtime? Also really love Angel, Nip/Tuck, Supernatural, Grim adventures of Billy & Mandy, Venture Bros (ok, those last 2 are cartoons but they're funny & twisted) to name a few).

I've watched 1 or 2 episodes of this that I downloaded a long time ago (the first 2) but was having issues w/it (with the sound not being loud enough). I'll prob. try to pick this up on DVD the next time they run a big sale at Best Buy or something (usually around the holidays!).

This is a great deal tho -- If I'd already seen the 1st season, I'd totally do this. :claps:

I *totally* forgot this switched to CBS! ACK! When is it on? (N/M -- I see they're not bringing it back and if this weekend's the finale, then there's no point. Bummer.)

But he's a *GOOD* Serial Killer... He's a Serial Killer Killer. LOL (That's a sentence you don't hear often.. a "good" serial killer? Kinda an oxy moron!)
