- 1% cashback all other purchases
- No Annual Fee

Be verrry careful with Discover. They usually have serious LIMITS on rebates for gas etc. It's not disclosed on the application without really checking.
Happy Thanksgiving.

??? Like what? I've never had any problems or complications. I've been using my card and signing up for these specials for a few years now. Every three months they change the catagories for their 5% cashback program. Last quarter it was hotels and something else. This quarter it was grocery stores and movies (rentals or theaters).

This year I've made $160 in cashback bonus. If you redeem it for certain gift cards you can stretch it even further. Just yesterday I redeemed $40 for a $50 Sephora e-certificate. I made a $65 purchase and only paid $15 for it, plus I went throught the Discover shopping and got 10% back on the $15.

I always shop through the Discover website before doing mypoints or ebates-they have less places, but they give 5-10% back. Ebates usually is only 1-3% and mypoints is even less if you figure it out.

edit- i just realized this post was for a specific card, but the above is about my regular old discover card, which as you can see has served me just fine!

this specific card gives rewards in periods. ie- jan-march is gas. april-june is restaurants. etc etc..

I have a regular discover card as well but only usally rack up about 50$ a year in cash back. Guess i should check the site for the other offers. We only use ours for certain monthly payments and pay in full each month.

This is not that good of a card, the 5% gas is just 3 months out of the year, every 3 months they switch goods which you receive 5% for, it's a pain to keep up with. Just get a Chase VISA which give you 3% on several categories, incl gas all year around. I think Discover has a 5% gas card all year around but limits you to $100 per month on the purchases of gas, after that it's 1%.

I use my discover for EVERYTHING possible! I pay it off every month. I use my cash back for gift cards... as a "thank you" they sent me a free $25 gift card to kb toys (I used $40 to get a $50 at kb toys). I was thrilled to get the thank you at the same time!!!!!!!!! I have been very happy with discover (aside from all the sales calls trying to get me to sign up for a business card!)

If someone can tell me a better rewards card, I would like to hear about it... but so far this is the best that I have found!

you can get 5% rebate on the frist 100 on gas every month. anything after won't be 5%

ever-decreasing limits on discover 5% "get more" promos

I used to think these were great, with 5% back on various areas that I commonly shopped in. Add on "double your reward" with some redemption options and I felt pretty good. Unfortunately, the amount of purchases that qualify for this rate seems to be sliding down. It used to be over $1000, then it became $1000, and then $400. One of the other posters said gas was limited at $100, I'm not surprised at all.

The problem is that once you start going over their limit, your "return" starts decreasing. Also Discover retains the right to determine what falls into their categories and what doesn't.

All this makes for a gimmick instead of a good savings opportunity in my book. My discover card went back into the drawer recently because of this.

Well then I guess I lucked out with my $180-plus gimmick! :)
