I personally like the Discover card a lot. The 5% back on travel, restaurants, groceries (depending on the month) and the shopping discount you get if you go through discovercard.com (20% off groupon, 5% off Apple, etc.)

However, if you are the type that carries balances, the APR on Discover cards are a lot (11.99% to 20.99%). There has to be better credit cards out there. If you are the type that pays off everything before they can slap you with a fee, this is a great card.

I love my discover card! I pay it off every month & take full advantage of the awesome cash back - the extra 5% cash back throughout the year is awesome!!! I put all I can on the discover (bills, repairs even a car downpayment) as long as you pay it off... why not get the cashback!!!

Love Discover. As previous people mentioned, 5% is great, once you rack up enough points you can redeem for various brand gift cards, they typically add an extra $5 on some of the gift cards you pick. So you use $20 for a $25 gift card!

$150 for 799 Back up

So I signed up for this promotion. When I clicked on the link it was $100 for spending $500. Just checked again and it is $150 for $799. Most likely it is the $150 for $799, since the program details state it is for the 2011 year. The one I was signed up for had the 2010 link, but I assume that the 2011 would be in effect since it is 2011.
