Seems like there's a lot of pre-occupation with age around here lately...

For the record....I like the fact that I can be 'invisible', so to speak.....I am not judged on my race, my features, my boob or butt size, my eye color, my hair color, my shoe size ( ;) ), or much else that I choose to reveal or not to reveal. And if I were to reveal anything.....did I make it up? Anyone here can portray themselves as anyone they want...and that has been the point.

I, for one, have been honest as to whom I am (or have seriously said who I am..no I'm not 85..... ) But as I have said before....I was accepted a bit differently when some pictured me as the 'dizzy, happy dinosaur' (I liked that avatar..but thought the legs more suiting)..whatever....in SpoofeeLand...anyone can be who they want to be...(or pretend to be). I'd rather be judged on my content (God help me) than my 'shell'.

I've had teachers, etc....give me credit/etc. for my appearance and/or the neckline of my shirt! (and openly told that) so....no, call me an old hag, whatever....I know my attributes and what I have to offer...and a 'number' (or neckline) has nothing to do with it. (and shouldn't)

Just consider me, precocious :05:

I like you regardless of any of that precocious! I must admit though, I'm nosy-and do look at everyone's ages when they post them, but part of your charm is that you never tell much-makes you interesting!

Okay, so I'm probably missing the point here, (as a newcomer without your convivial history) but it seems that this statement is all about saying that you are attractive, or at least that your 3-D teachers and others think so, and give you 'credit' for it. Although I'm sure that was not your conscious intent, given that you value the internet so you can be 'invisible'.

I personally think we humans do care very much about what others think of us, even those we don't actually know or interact with often. (I see coworkers every day spending more time on 'impression management' than they do working.) And judgments are made first on appearance, despite our denials; we are a visual species and biologically wired to appraise one another for optimal breeding potential. We judge, we care, we move on. Just my opinon.

Yes, partly.....I was always considered attractive and gained much on that however, more importantly....I always realized that this could disappear in a heart beat and I should never rely on this alone. (Not to say that I do not use all my assets when it's in my best interests.)
Agreed we are a very visual species, and the whole 'first impressions' thing plays a major part...but....is it really fair???? That's where the 'invisible' comes into play. It levels out the playing field. If you were deaf or mute...the internet opens this whole world up for you......If you are 700Lbs....who knows..who cares....you are who you are.....your soul is what matters....not the shell.
I for one, feel I have been blessed with the circumstances I've been born with. Others may not be as 'fortunate', but that does not lessen who they are or who they can become. Too much emphases is focused on the 'shell' albeit 'human'.

Reading a post like that reminds me of one thing "Oh you'll just love her, she has a great personality   " :)

Is that why you and dehawk get along so well ;)

First of all, you yourself created a poll (http://www.spoofee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27811 a confusing one at that ;) ) asking everyone's age, marital status, children etc. As I think you'll agree, its nice to know a little more about people you are interacting with, especially the wonderful people at Spoofee. :) As a result, there's no harm in asking the question of age etc., just like there's no harm if you don't want to contribute any of the information. But there's no reason to be bitter about people being curious and wanting to get to know people.

Doh! I guess she forgot about that one...

Yes, I created an anonymous poll to see where the members are and where they're coming from, not to 'judge' any particular member. I'm not bitter....I just feel sometimes too much importance is placed on the 'shell' of a person.

I like Magic Shell, you know that stuff that hardens when you put it on ice cream. That stuff is oh so good tasting. I think I might have to go to the store and pick some up. Thanks for reminding me of the stuff. :32: :32:

I totally agree, but aren't you the least bit curious how people you are interacting with look? Not to judge them at all, but to just put a face to the name, so you just don't think of big lips and a flopping tongue (poor example since Choo's provided pictures) when you think of them.

Jmb27 ;)

No it doesn't matter, so no need to reassure us you're good looking. Can other users post polls that they find interesting yes, do you have to answer or post in them nope :)

/ past tense "I've had " sounded a little bitter.

// Yes, I know your not

;)

Sure I'm curious....some of the member's photos of their kids and pets are really sweet..... But....there are some who twist things into hurtful comments (not ribbing) and can really offend. That's what I'm referring to.

Again I agree, but unfortunately there are rude people everywhere, ESPECIALLY in NYC. I can say that since I lived in NY for 30+ years and worked in NYC for several years.

On the other hand, there are countless wonderful and kind people, like here at Spoofee.:D

I am only doing that to get your attention. You are commenting about how people can be so hurtful, but yet you are constantly rolling your eyes at peoples posts, which might not make people happy. Also you running around correcting everyone's grammer errors is not nice either. This is a internet forum, not school. As long as what is posted is close enough to what was intended, who cares if something is spelled wrong.

You doing those things above, plus a few other things you do around here do not paint a pretty picture of yourself. So I guess if you need to hide behind a pair of legs then go right ahead. I myself could care less what you look like, you could be a alien or a caveman for all I care. Your actions speak louder than anything, IMHO. :(

I need to be more hurtfull apparently.

You old hag
