Downloading Ringtones

My son wants ringtones for his cellphone, but at $3 a pop from Alltel he's out of luck! I've seen several websites for $9.99/mo and would like info on them. I wouldn't mind paying the $9.99 for 1 month to let him get some ringtones, but I don't want to be stuck having to pay the $9.99 for longer than 1 month. I'd like any advice out there!
We have new phones that won't let you "trade" ringtones!:(

Have you tried looking on the website for free ringtones? Try the phone providers website, when you register your phone online, you have access to a lot of free services. T-Mobile has some free ringtones that are available.
 
Is the phone bluetooth enabled. or capable of being connected via cable to a computer to download ringtones?

Yes, the are RAZRs but they have the latest software that doesn't allow you to bluetooth ringtones from one phone to another. You can send the songs, but can't apply them as ringtones.

Myxer is the best - it's free, and if you don't like what they have, you can upload your own songs. And you don't give them a CC# either.
 
I remembered someone asking about Alltel Ringtones because I ran into the same problem so I did a search.

For a previous Alltel phone I had I bought softwear where you can download ringtones, pics, copy address book etc but the new phone I have now they did not have the softwear.
