internal or external? For what purpose? Do you need to be able to adjust the booktype or bitsetting?
 
Do you want Lightscribe capable? What about color?
 
Does your computer have IDE or only SATA? If its external, do you want USB2 or FireWire?
 
Do you just like saying "dual layer dvd+r"?
 
I dont suggest using 'budget' DL discs. Youll kick yourself for losing 9GB of data just because you didnt want to spend an extra 25c per disc. I only use Verbatim DL discs.
 
verbtim are the only brand i buy, well until now. they are being made in india. quality took a big hit so im looking for others.

luckily so far all the 10 packs ive seen are from singapore.
 
I'll tell ya, for regular DVD5s, I only (and I mean ONLY) use Office Depot brand. Ive never ad a bad burn and Ive never met a drive that didnt read them. Including my hacked Xbox. In fact thats the only brand that my Xbox would recognize so for five years thats all I use. For DVD9s, I use Verbatim. Thanksfull I got 50 for xmas so Im good for a while. Let me know what you find!
