This is probably a ridiculous question to ask on Spoofee (since most of Spoofeers are not exactly extravagant by nature) but has anyone any experience with a DUX mattress and/or the Dux Xleep pillow? The figgin beds start at about $4000 and the pillows are about $300 and up. My wife really wants one of the pillows but... Worse yet there aren't any coupons for this either. Her B'day is in 2 weeks and I'm going to get the damn thing for her but any good recommendations would make me feel better about doing it. :worry:

:pI hate to tell you this but as for me being a woman............If you were my husband....................I'd a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y- KILL YOU if you spent that much on a pillow. lol Maybe its a southern thang!!:p

If that's what she wants, that's what she gets.

Remember the first Rule of Male Survival

"If Mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy"!

Mamma is going to have to get over it, she dont need to be THAT damm happy!

I know, I know. It's very hard to believe that she would want something like this but through the generosity of our fabulous President-General Bush we have this great "free" money that as a responsible citizen I must feed back into the economy. How better to do it than to buy a Scandinavian luxury pillow. The other factor it that if it contributes to a good night's sleep it will be worth it.
BTW Sc, my wife is a granddaughter of the man they named the FSU Tallahassee football stadium after. And both our chil'ins was born in the South. I think the Southern thang is wanting a good night's sleep.

How did a Daughter of the Confederacy end up in Hells' Kitchen?

And you're right, It's a Southern Thang.

I know of whence I speak, my wife is a descendant of Gen. Robert E. Lee.

We ended up in Hell's Kitchen as a job transfer matter (plus my wife is a great cook ;))

As far as the whole bed goes, I think the last car I bought didn't cost $4000. The car was a while ago and the last vehicles we actually owned were motorcycles when we lived in LA. I had an 1100 and the wife had a 650. On the off chance it would rain we would rent a car. I wanted to bring the bikes to NY but found that parking a bike in a garage costs over $1200 a year.
I guess somebody must buy $4000 beds or the Dux people would be out of business.
Lucky for them they don't count on me for their income.

I think you should get it JerryP for the following reasons:

1st, if you have the means to do so - what is the big deal? You can't take your money with you and life is too short to do without the things we want or would like to have.

Secondly, you spend a lot of your life sleeping and there are several health benefits linked to a good night sleep. My sister sent me this excel program that you enter in your DOB and it tells you several things like month's lived, days lived, etc. It also includes # of hours slept. At the age of 32, I have already slept over 95, 500 hours of my life, at age 42 it jumps to 124, 500 and at age 52 it is 153, 725. (these figures were based on the date Jan 2008)

Hubby and I are talking about a number bed or temperpedic. And Dan is right about Mama .....;)

 I sooooo want a sleep number bed!!!! LOL hubby and me can never agree on comfort matters....like temp in the house and definitely not on what is most comfortable to sleep on..OMG his pillow could kill someone if you hit them in the head with it. I swear its a lethal weapon but he thinks it's perfect to get his

I'm kinda sick of my hubby stealing my pillow, maybe if I bought a $300 pillow, LOL, I would never! I would spend it on the kids, gas, groceries, all I ask from my husband for my bday is a card, that's all his feeble mind can remember and anything else he happens to shove in there with it is just an added bonus. Geeesh, $300?!?! What's this pillow DO?

The active spring support of the DUX Sleep Pillow keeps it firm over time, allowing it to retain its supportive, yet stable shape.

:wof::wof::wof: :convinced: LOL

Can you get it with a money-back warranty?

I would just get the dolla store replica, although it says if you buy the bed, they will throw in the pillows for free!

This does seem to be the pitch. I tried one out while lying on one of their $6000 beds. I was given a "pillow demonstration" by a pretty blond girl :o. The pillow was impressive and even though you can't feel them (when not vacuum packed) they do have springs in it. The bed on the other hand felt like a good firm mattress. (no "mattress demonstration :ignore:) I'm sure it has other sterling qualities but it takes half a pound of gold to buy one. I prefer to keep my gold under the mattress not have it BE the mattress. I think I'll get my wife one of the pillows and then, since I go to bed hours before she does (I start work at 5 a.m.) I'll sample it. Hopefully I won't like it but what's using a little 1/2 oz of gold to BE the pillow. LOL

I have probably blown that much on dead flowers and one-time-only cards over the years anyhow. Did I ever express how I felt about cut flowers and cards?? :thumbs_do

Jerry, you and I think a lot alike.

That causes me concern for you.

Does that mean she won't get any more dead flowers and cards? Cause if not, you may be in trouble there! unless you want to get her another pillow for the next holiday. By the way, the pretty blonde girl? She just models part time on the side for that bed company, had you not gotten the pretty model, you would have saved 2 grand. :teeth:

Always flowers and cards. I think them a waste but they make me less unhappy than they make my wife happy. This makes me happy so it's a left handed win-win (sort of).

2Gs? I'm just going for the $300 pillow. She would have had to do a LOT more than demonstrate a pillow to get me to shell out thousands. :o Possibly Elliot Spitzer would think it a good buy?
