I have never been treated so poorly! They said they would carry out a deal, but in the end, they never did. I should have just bought it the first time I called!!!!
ahhh!!! I had a great experience with them last year, so I was very unpleasantly surprised. Here is my complaint (Tell me if I went overboard, argh! I'm so flustered!)
I am sorry, I have dealt with your company many, many times before, and I have never been so poorly treated. I have called a few times today, requesting a simple price match. The very first time I called, they were happy to assist me, but after that, I met the rudest people on this planet Earth.
The second call I made, the lady (her name was Diane from Wassau, WI base) rudely refused to even TRY to price match, even though the SUPERVISOR, not some representative, approved the match only hours before. She was very impatient with me, and I was very disappointed, after having a good experience with you guys only a year ago. The next call came when a man refused to even talk to me, he said that you guys don’t price match, which is the most outrageous claim of them all. He then promptly hung up on me when I asked for his name. The next time, a lady, which helped me out (sort of), but she too didn't let me go through with the deal. I was very upset when she said, "I have Diane next to me right now, you talked with her earlier, I am only going to reiterate what she (Diane) said." It seemed as if Diane was telling her EXACTLY what to say (you could hear it in the background). Once again, I called because it HAS to go through, the supervisor wouldn't approve it for no reason (she even left a note for the rest of the reps to see). This particular time, a man (Footlocker) answered and I was one step away from buying the shoe (forget the price match!), and he says you are out of stock! By this time, I am so distraught, as you may have guessed, to a point where I just asked for a catalog. Searching for a different shoe, I finally find one, this time it HAS to go through; it has the same color, model, and everything. So I call Footlocker (Not realizing that Eastbay and Footlocker have the same reps - I was hoping to get good treatment again). Look who answers the phone, Diane! The same rude, impatient woman who, this time, harassed me on the phone. She said, with these exact words when I asked for a new price match, "you want a new price match, and it's not going to happen." Not recognizing the voice I say, "excuse me, you don't have to be so rude." She replies with a yell, "RUDE?!" I say, "yes, can I please have your name?" She simply ignores me. So I ask again, still silence. "Hello? Is anyone there?" She says, "yes." Now is when I realized that this is Diane. I say, "don't worry, I have a different shoe." I explained the shoe to only hear: "Same model?! (Yes) Same color?! (Yes) Same size (I don't know). Well then I can't do it!" So I ask (again), "I'm sorry, can I have your name please?" She ignores me once again, "Good Bye!" Well, I am left flustered, no shoes, no order, the WORST customer service.
On a separate, yet related note, I would like to praise one of your employees. Her name is Krystal (#: 2228). She was very helpful, that was the only call in which I wasn’t either left in a bitter mood or hung up on.
I am truly a nice man, and I hate to get people in trouble, but I just felt this was one VERY big exception. I am so upset right now, I do not know how I can ever go back to Eastbay, or any of their affiliates. These people should be disciplined to not act so rude.
