I'm watching my male betta die right now. He's twitching around in his tank. It was fun having a betta because I battle with my friend's betta. But now I'm thinking about either saving my betta or getting a new one.. or should i get a new animal for a pet?

What is an easy pet to take care of? :hmm:

Anything that's NOT a betta and only because I think you like saying betta too much.

Betta :creep:

:hmmmm2: Your fish is dying and you either want to 'save' him (as in save a dead fish - not rescue) or get a new fish? Were you possibly planning on mounting him over the fireplace?

Isn't there a law against 'fish fights'?

Gosh I am so sorry to hear you pet is heading back to the great ocean in the sky. I had a beautiful blue beta for years and we loved him! He would let you pet him if you tapped on the aquarium glass. Anyway, how about a change of pace, and, maybe a birdie? A parakeet is fun and just needs daily water, food, a clean cage, and, nail trimming. Same with a canary, though not my area of expertise. If memory serves me correctly, Preco has had experience with canaries? Cats are fun too, a little more expensive on the vet visits and care. Anyway you go, pets add to life in general!

get some sea monkeys:tongue:

Even easier.....a pet rock...

Youre watching it die an agonizing death. You should rescue your dying fish if its an option. If its not, then you should euthanize him. I mean, either save him or let him die? WTF kind of question is that? That shouldnt even be a choice. Its a living thing and when you brought it home you made a commitment to give him the best care in your ability.

If youre just going to let that fish die, you shouldnt get any other pet, not even another betta. You dont deserve one if you care that little about them.

If all you care about is how easy they are to take care of then just call that neighborhood stray cat yours, you wont have to do anything.

This makes me sick. You make me sick.

Easy Squid.....I've had fish in the past and sometimes they swam a bit 'funny' where I thought they were goners and 'miraculously' they survived, so I'd be hesitant to euthanize too quickly.......but I would try to 'treat' their ailments (i.e. antibiotics, etc.) but I draw the line at mouth to mouth.....

I tried mouth to mouth when Chameleo Estevez was dying. I tried force feeding, forcing liquids, massaging his tiny chest, everything I could think of, because I made the commitment to make this guy a suitable home and I failed. The cage didnt fail, the plants didnt fail, I failed. I understand that these arent possible with a fish, they dont have lungs after all.

So, sorry but I wont go easy on someone who is going to let their pet just die a probably horrible death (without even attempting to help it instead) after who knows how much time of poor treatment he has received at the hands of this fool. I suppose it may be better that the fish die than be subjected to anymore of this kid's idea of fun.

I stand my ground. This kid doesnt deserve a pet if he is just going to torture it and then let it die. In fact, this kid should be evaluated by a mental professional. These are the kinds of people that statistically grow up to be sadists and murderers.
