eBay Mystery Auctions

Anybody knows what eBay Mystery Auctions are about? It's amazing that people still want to bet thousands of dollars without knowing what they will get. Is there anything I'm missing there?

mystery auctions are based on your trusting the seller. i looked at them briefly. people will bid these auctions up to $5 or $10 and then hope that they get a gift card for more than that amount. every so often people in their comments will write, "i bid $8.21 and i got a gift card for $9.01. i'm very pleased". i read that and think that the winner is a pathetic, gullible loser. i think these auctions are a rip off. one humble man's opinion. i vented. i feel better. ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

OK, I decided, what the heck, one day, and bought one. It stated it was a gift (they have to say that) and that it was worth a certain amount, at least. I got an old used ladies watch, a tiny unfinshed box treasure chest from a craft stor that they put the old watch in, and a couple other junk items. I got it for cheap - about $10 - I could have used elsewhere. Now I have more to sell in a garage sale. :thumbs_do
