Can someone explain the "reputation level" (the little green box) and "reputation points". I can't seem to find any explanations either in FAQs or the user control panel.

They're disabled.

But it'd be to give posters credit for making a good post or helping someone out.

Well I'm "off the scale", whatever that means.

Reputation points???

So I have this little box next to my avatar on all my posts that when I click on it it tells me that I have 10 reputation points. What on earth do reputation points do? Im sure this is a simple answer, and everyone will point and laugh and call me the new guy again, but I gotta know, it's driving me crazy.

hi Wade,

actually, we don't do reputation points here anymore. (everyone has 10 pts by default.)

i'm not sure why that's still showing up, though.

Wade you are so the little brother on the distinguished road! :)

dehawk, it's sorta like the midas touch you've got there... only with the midas touch, everything turned to gold and with the dehawk touch... whatever you touch, turns to mold :p

Methinks whatever dehawk touches ends up turning into crap. LOL LOL
Me has 13 rep points. :claps: :claps: :claps: :claps: but am on a disgusting road. See what happens when you hang with dehawk, you end up being like him.

Dehawk just can't get away from the torture. even if he runs to this back corner of spoofee. I think he should get a couple reputation points just because we all give him such a hard time :)

i was reading a post from spoofee, when i realized that even HE is on a distinguished road. i guess not even the "big guy" has achieved true greatness.
well, at any rate, i thought it was pretty funny!

I also had to question that reputation thing. Last week someone went to mine and left a negative and asked why I always cut and pasted the response from the deal. I thought thats what I was supposed to do. Thats why I posted last week "sorry, thought I was helping". I was kind of discouraged to find out that ANYONE can bring down someone else reputation level without warning or reason. As far as it still working, Yep. It worked last week. Thats O.K though, one of the mods told me who it was. Kind of a mean thing to do though. I turned mine off.

Sorry for getting back to you guys so late.

I removed reputation points. I set it on forgetting why I switched it off, but I remember now. Thanks guys! :)

Bump! I'm curious as to why Spoofee doesn't use rep.:convinced: I like the idea of reputation points for members that contribute.

True, I think the "Thank You" fiasco was 'changing' a feature, the "rep" feature would be an "add on"....if you don't like it, don't look.;)

There wouldn't be any "change" in the way people responded, just an added feature.

Was there a problem before with the 'rep'? I recall the 'rep' feature was based on post count here and there was a 'title' given under your member name. That's not the feature we're referring to (as least not me). It is where you can comment a member in private....kind of like a "pm" but quick and does not take up any 'space'. It directly links/reflects a certain post. (Like a nod to something you posted without getting very involved.) That I think could be fun.

Yep, that is what I am talking about, and the members also receive points which they get from other members. It is fun and people get recognition they deserve. :)
