I have done this in the past, and they do send checks out. Epinions is wholly owned by ebay.

1. ENTRY. You can participate in the 10 for 10 promotion in the following way:

Submit 10 reviews to Epinions.com beginning December 1, 2007 (12:01 AM Pacific time) and receive $10. The Promotion is valid until the first 30,000 reviews are received or until December 31, 2007 (11:59 PM Pacific time), which ever comes first.

Participants are not limited to only writing 10 reviews for $10. You can also participate and earn more by writing reviews in the following denominations:

10-19 reviews for $10
20-29 reviews for $20
30-39 reviews for $30
40-49 reviews for $40
50-59 reviews for $50
60-69 reviews for $60
70-79 reviews for $70
80-89 reviews for $80
90-99 reviews for $90
100+ reviews for $100

To qualify:

Your reviews must be submitted on a product or service in Epinions.com's database, excluding editorials, buying guides, comments about Epinions.com, member advice, and the writer's corner.

At the time Epinions.com validates entries (some time shortly following the end of the submission period), each review must have an overall rating of at least "somewhat helpful". Express reviews are not eligible. (Express reviews contain less than 200 words.)

Maximum payout is $100 per Participant during the Promotion period. Participants are solely responsible for paying any taxes or other expenses associated with the earnings of this promotion. Epinions.com will report earning values to taxing authorities if required by applicable law. Earnings from this promotion may not be transferred.

2. ELIGIBILITY. To participate, you must legally reside in the 50 United States and be over 18 years when entering. You are ineligible if you are an employee of or consultant to Epinions.com or its affiliates and suppliers (or if you are an immediate family member of, or live in the same household as, one of those individuals). The 10 for 10 Promotion is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

3. DISCLAIMERS. Communications between you and Epinions.com (including your participation in the promotion, Epinions.com's notification of winning or your response to such notification) may be affected by many factors, including technological failures, and may be lost, late, stolen, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible or otherwise undeliverable. Epinions.com can only process communications it actually receives on time. Should any communication problems affect your participation in the promotion or opportunity to win or claim a prize, you accept that Epinions.com is not liable for such problems. IN NO EVENT SHALL EPINIONS.COM OR ITS AFFILIATES OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR LOST PROFITS OR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS PROMOTION (HOWEVER ARISING, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE). Epinions.com cannot ensure that its website will be operational or will operate error-free.

4. PROMOTION INTEGRITY. You may not use an automated process to submit multiple entries, and Epinions.com may void all entries submitted from entrants who use such processes. You will be disqualified if you attempt to manipulate, interfere or tamper with the entry process or promotion administration. Epinions.com intends to report any unlawful activity to law enforcement authorities. Epinions.com may cancel or modify the 10 for 10 Promotion if Epinions.com, in its sole discretion, believes that the 10 for 10 Promotion's integrity has been compromised.

5. GENERAL. This agreement is governed by California laws as such laws are applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within California between California residents. This agreement sets forth the entire understanding and agreement with respect to this Promotion.

Thanks...was getting ready to put 2 reviews on there anyway!

Yes, thank you! I've written 3 now, but I have a question. In the rules, it says
each review must have an overall rating of at least "somewhat helpful"
Who rates the reviews? Do we only get credit if someone comes along and rates our reviews at least somewhat helpful? Or does epinions do that?

Other user rate your reviews. Generally, just do an essay of 200 plus words as helpful as you possible can and you'll be ok. I use epinions and amazon and some other sources when purchasing a product for reviews, so keep that in mind. You can look up my reviews on there which are also under groove1.

I'm up to 21 reviews. :typing: Where are you all at?

Wow, that's awesome!!:claps: I'm glad that this was bumped, because I had forgotten all about it! How do you like it so far? Is it overly time-consuming and if it is, do you think it's worth doing? Just wondering, thanks!:)

Yeah, I did 5 reviews and ran out of steam....at $1 per 200+ words, it's a lot of work! Well, OK, I'm just lazy! LOL

Don't forget too that you still get money in addition to the $10 based on your reviews as well. They deposit the earnings into your account the following month and you can withdraw when you get $10. Also, this promo is good for the first 30,000 reviews in December. I think it's definitely worth it.

each review has to be over 200 words to qualify

Epinions

So I've written 27 reviews over 200 words - almost all of which have been rated somewhat helpful or above, but my earnings still say $0. Anyone having any luck with this and know the process?

Same here! I am at 26 reviews, though. I think they don't pay out until either the 31st of December or when they reach 30,000 reviews, whichever happens first. If I am reading the rules correctly. I hope! I will be totally bummed if all that work was for not!

They actually deposited another $20 in my account as a holiday bonus on 12/23. Sweet.

As far as how the earnings work; they verify all of the ones that are earning you money and you will see it sometime the following month. They usually post a message on the page saying something like "December earnings have been applied" or something like that.

As for the 10 for 10 promo, they verify everything is legit and then give you the money about the 3rd week of the following month. What's nice is these reviews will continue to earn you money and you do nothing :)

I'm an online writer (full time) and I can tell you that paying people $1 per review is insane (as in, too cheap). I charge $10 per 200 word articles/reviews. It's a nice way to grab an extra $10 or $20 if you have the spare time but for me, not worth it.

Hope ya'll can use it to your advantage though :)

Maybe, but like I said, I will continue to get paid for my reviews long after you have spent your $10 and I won't be doing anything :)

Yeah, I did 40 last month, plus got a $20 bonus, so that's $60! :woot:

200 words isn't that much, imo.

Hey! Share the links that pay way more for reviews, Babagirls!! :p

Haven't started yet this month. Working on getting some auctions up on e-bay first.

The same amount of work you do for $100, I can do too but for $1,000. I think I'll have more than $10 long after your done with your reviews. ;)

I've been in the online industry doing text work since 2001. There's no links, sadly. Just a ton of networking that got me the clients that I have. :)
