If they "exceeded" the number of units available, I wonder if that means that some are not going to be sent out? Sure hope someone @ Microsoft thought to put a counter on the # they were sending out so they did not go to far over.
 
Has any body received their SM STUDENT 2006

I know of five people that took advantage of this offer, received confirmation but no delivery. Has anyone received his or her free copy?
 
i got confirmation that my order was placed, but i still havent received anything yet either... =/
 
Has anyone received theirs yet? It says "Due to the overwhelming interest in Microsoft Student 2006, all available free copies have been distributed" on the website. Does that mean they have been shipped out?

i have signed up for multiple microsoft freebies from posters to trial cds.
i have never received anything from microsoft. no email confirmations neither. :thumbs_do
 
No response to inquiries

I think they just had a limited amount and failed to tell anyone who signed up after they ran out that they wouldn't be getting one. I sent in a question weeks ago to confirm whether or not they would be sending me one and failed to get a response. I wasn't particularly impressed with the way they handled this - the ones of us who didn't receive one will probably not even receive a notification that they are not honoring their original agreement.
 
wow, this email just came in last night... I had given up on this ever showing up, but here is the response from Microsoft:
