(Expired) Target - Free Dr Seuss Storytime from 9 to 11am

We'll be there! Thanks for the post!

:bump:....................................................

Why am I more excited than my kids are????

son will take the baby

ok, worth the shot...but not much excitement. Kids got to listen to 3 stories from moderately enthused employee. Goody bag had a juice box, goldfish, fruit snacks, a puzzle page and a few coupons for V-Tech.

we went too.. it was cute... listened to 2 stories from a great story telling employee.. turned into a great morning outting with my little one

We went today, too. It was mediocre at best. We got a goody bag with fruit snacks, juice, goldfish, and some other stuff. The stories were read by an employee who kept the book in front of her face, barely audible, and read like a first-grader. The kids were restless after the first story, so we ended up leaving quickly. At least the goody bags are the reusable kind!

daughter had to run to NC w/ the baby and her hubby. his brother was hurt in a night drop up at fort brag. He's hurting w/ 4 fractured discs in his back but otherwise fine!

Baby's fine..wasn't hurt..it was Jaime's Bro-in-law who made a nighttime paretrooper juimp and banged back first into a tree to avoid killing someone beneath him.
There were 50 people hurt in all. Thank God nobody was killed.
Baby's growing like a weed. Jaime called said they'll be coming back instead of today or tomorrow on Wed/ Thurs...reminded her of the baby's 9month checkup on Thursday at 230pm (ive got my injections for head , and neck and going to ask him about mid and lower back - same day at 3pm same dr...was hoping she could take me...hubby will if son can't).
Baby now has 3 cut teeth thru gums ...two on bottom one on his left upper front (if you're looking at him it's your right)..he's starting to get into everything and i do mean everything so I totally babyproofed the house (Thought i'd have more time). Got some guys and gals from my church to come out and do it for free since hubby's not well and I certainly can't bend over like that w/ my head forward. They told me what I needed to buy, had my son go get it, and they came out and put it all together. I then went around and double checked per their request w/ my son (i couldn't bend) and they actually did a fantastic job! It's part of the church nursery program to help those who can't do it by themselves keep their homes safe for baby! Think EVERY church/synogogue/etc should have such a program.

Not trying to bash this posting... however, there's a place that does this on at least a weekly basis. It's called a library. Are we really this robotized by commercialism that when Target starts doing story hour, people think it's a deal?!?! Go support your local library. Do you want Target to be in charge of your kids' education? Keep giving Target your money, instead of supporting your local library and see how our future looks. I, for one, am ashamed at anyone who went to do this, instead of supporting your local library. Shame on you. What's next, instead of sending your kids to school, you drop them off at Starbucks to learn?

Um....I take my kids to library story time. However my library offers it on weekday mornings only. Soooooo....I guess I shouldn't allow them to enjoy reading time on the weekend?

Personally I see NOTHING WRONG with taking children for an added story hour! My grandson goes to the ones at the library but why shouldn't he also go to the ones at Target????????????????? If my grandson was here would've taken him to Target. The Library here does it once a month and it didn't conflict with it. We also go and get books to read there once per week.
But I do have a question...does that mean we shouldn't buy books at the bookstore? shouldn't buy downloads of books for the nookcolor I own or a kindle?? or any other ereader?
My belief is anything that can ENHANCE a child's ability to learn and read is well worth it.

you tell em this is a wonderful thing to do, my library is doing a reading fro dr. suess this weekend too!!!!!!!!!!! take that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget Barnes and Nobles does children's story hour once a week too ;)

It's funny, but since Dr. Seuss's birthday is this coming week, I find a lot of places are doing story time. One of our local grocery stores is doing it too. I for one love story time, any time, any place Sam I am...

My son's school is doing Dr. Seuss week and parents are coming in as mystery readers :spy: all week long!

Wow... gee I am so sorry if I offended anyone with the fact that we are a household with two working parents and going to the story hour at our library isn't possible.... Oh my god... I spent a fantastic morning with my daughter we had a great time that included but was not limited to the story time at target...Who the hell are you to imply that simply because we went to the target reading that we don't support our library or that our children do not go to school... she may only be 4 but she goes to pre school every day and is very ready to begin kindergarten in a few months... wait let me guess you are going to bash me now cause i am not a stay at home mother... Fine be ashamed.. but when our library starts selling toilet paper I will start shopping there..but in the mean time... I had a great weekend at target!
