Hey, did any of you guys that bought the AT&T 50pk spindle w/ $7.00 mir get a letter saying that they could not honor the rebate because of the wrong upc? I mailed the original upc off of the spindle and don't have that anymore, so who would I call about this? Does anyone know? And, when i got the letter in, it says verbatim, and to check on reabateshq, but when i checked there, the reabate wasn't there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What was the UPC barcode number you sent in?

What was the rebate promotional/offer #

What was the address you mailed it to? I have a reason for asking.

What store was it bought at, online or whatever just the retailer's name, and when?

Lastly, I am assuming you made photocopies of everything you submitted?

The upc i sent was the only one on the package
I know I got the deal off of spoofee, it was the AT&T 50 pack cd-r for $.99 after mir
I bought it at best buy
Not too sure about which place I mailed it to... And, I only have the original reciept and the mail sent to me by best byte after I made the purchase. I didn't make photocopies of the upc sadly enough. Is there any hope?

I forgot why I asked what address you mailed it to?

Oh well.

Without an offer #, I can't even possibly begin to check the accuracy of the fulfillment center handling it. Saying you got the deal here is of, sorry, no help.

That doesn't contain a direct link to THE rebate in question, and it would probably be gone by now even it had. At least if I knew it went to

02-48998 or whatever offer #, I could look something up.

If you didn't keep an extra copy of the rebate form, and you didn't make a scan or a photocopy of the upc, you're pretty much SOL.

I can't even tell you WHO to call because you didn't tell me the rebate promotion number. So I can't say "call parago" or "call bb" or call so and so, cause without that, I don't even know the fulfillment center that would have handled it. :(

That's the link to the offer there, it was the $7 mir that failed. If you give me till tommorow afternoon, I can dig up the failed reabte card and then I'll be able to tell you one of the places that the rebate goes to... I'm going to call best buy and see if I can get some info on that rebate. Thanks for the help. From now on, I'm going to start making copies of my rebate fourms and upc's.

Here's the resubmission address... sorry for taking so long. I still haven't called best buy about this, but on monday I'm planning on calling.

Resubmissions, Dept 02-50264
P.O. Box 9013
Coppell, TX 75019
866-856-3964

I'm probabbly going to write them a letter... I hope this helps... I know I submitted the only upc on the package and I don't have a copy so...

To quote the faq from AT. I forget which of those two numbers this works for, but I know with one of them, that after you call and get the menu and choose like #1 or some junk, you can just start punching the * key on your phone over and over and skip past allllllll the BS and you'll hear it ring and get a person.

When I try and navigate the maze, I don't seem to get a person. I punch the pound key..or is the the star key..whatever...until it rings and voila, one person.

Explain that you sent off the original UPC that WAS from the pack of AT&T cdr discs, so it had to have been the correct one. Basically, argue it....not violent or mean..but argue it and don't back down too easily....you may get a "as a one time courtesy I am going to validate your rebate sir" kind of response.

It depends, one may just want you to resubmit. Having not made copies of important things like the UPC, you can't do this. Or you may get a CSR who will validate it for you. Luck of the draw, but it's worth a shot.

..be thankful it's parago and not TCA....

The ones who maintain wherethehellismyfarkingrebate.com

TCA is the worst. Parago you got hope, they can be decent, it depends on who you get on the phone.

Did BB honor the $2 rebate using the copy of the UPC?

If so, then that actually would PROVE that you sent the correct UPC, since they would have rejected a copy of the wrong UPC.

So if BB itself says you sent in a photocopy of the correct UPC, and sent the $2 rebate, then parago shouldn't be rejecting it.

Although with BB's shatty web accuracy, how much you want to bet the put down the WRONG dept number on the form from their page, and that's the source of your problem.

Watch it be that I might have put the wrong dept #... lol... I'm going to call in the morning when I'm fresh and can hold my ground. I also had another rebate fail (this time it was my fault) but I was able to find the missing upc code (it was a maxtor hd). I took your advice and made copies of my rebate fourm and upc before sending and I'm keeping my boxes and wrappings till i get my rebate. Also, on the $2 rebate, I haven't got any news of it yet, so its probably alright. I sure hope so anyways....

I honestly can't remember which number I used the last time I had need to call them, think it was the 888 number.

I'm not saying you put down the wrong dept number, I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised if the web folks at BB put in the wrong dept number on the rebate form you printed out. Which would be their bad.

In the future, when it comes to rebates that go to department 02-XXXXX I would check rebateshq.com and see if you can find the same promotion number in their database. If yes, see what the terms are on their end as well. If a rebate goes to mcallen, coppell, or miami and starts with 02 it's probably going to parago.

HECK YEAH!!!! I called them up and they validated my rebate!!!

Dang it all... no there's another failure T-T... When everything is going right something has to go wrong (murphy's law). I got a 80gb maxtor hd from the deal posted here on 11/13/02 and when I checked the status of my rebate, it showed it failed. I called the rebate center of maxtor and told them this and they said that the rebate i sent in for didn't match my product #. Here's the rebate

http://www.staples.com/Products/Rebates/12_28_02_Maxtor496430.pdf

anyone have the same problem? My maxtor 40gb rebate went through and all so dunno what the problem is...

Well, we got one success....so....hey...

One Little Victory

...probably no rush fans in here or there's people who hate 'em, but anyways...

I'll get back to you on the maxtor thingie....

so... has anyone else had any trouble with this rebate?

Here's the problem with that rebate form.

It shows L01J030 as being the model alongside ALL the drives. The 30, 40, 60, and 80.

The 40GB is model L01J040, the 60 is J060, and so on. So, person doing the fulfillment probably looked at your 80GB upc which would have showed L01J080, and said "no, that does't match, it's supposed to be L01J030 according to the top of the rebate form"

If you call Maxtor, THAT'S the problem. Call up again, get them to go to that URL, if they even know their own products they should IMMEDIATELY know that all 4 models have 4 different model numbers ( a duh ) and they end in 30, 40, 60 or 80 respectively for the 30, 40, 60, or 80 GB models, and that their rebate form has this all screwed up.

Otherwise, you can call staples rebate center, they CAN validate this rebate, especially since they're hosting the form that has the incorrect ( ie same ) model for all 4 unique drive products/models.

Christ...I don't even work for this company and I can spot this error right off, can't they get simple stuff like this straight before they give such a form to staples?
