what is firefox and what is the difference between it and IE?
 
Firefox has tabs IE does not (except for the beta version)
 
i think you mean internet exploere 7 beta but there are plug ins that you can download to add tabs to internet explorer 6.

Firefox
- tabbed browsing
- pick you own skin / style
- a lot of plugins made by users available (fireftp, livehttpheader, live bookmarks, possibilities.. are endless?)
- Supposedly more stable and faster..

IE 7 seems to have everything Firefox has. We'll see how the battle plays out.

If it's IE6 vs Firefox.. I think Firefox is the clear winner.
 
Firefox is also less vulnerable to attacks by "malicious code" according to my husband. He says its not perfect but it's more secure than IE and the developers are quick to put out a patch whenever a flaw is discovered.

I like the tabs and the search engine bar that will let you search google, amazon, ebay, and a few others without having to go to the website first. I think you can add more if your favorite one isn't there. And I like that you can type something like "starbucks" in the address bar, and it will usually take you to starbucks.com without having to type ".com."

i just started using the seach bar and it's freaking awesome. i've been using firefox for so long now but i always just though that the search bar was in the way but then i realize how often i search for certain things on certain web site. so now i just select the search engine i want type in what i'm searching for and it loads in the background or if i see something on the page i'm looking at that i want to find i just select it and drag and drop. just awesome.
