Flight ticket refund possible?

I bought 2 one way tickets on my amex leaving Kc To denver. Now I cant use them, does anyone know of a trick to get a refund what should I tell the airline? Thanks

1. Pray they change your schedule on you, and you can call and complain/ask for a refund or airfare credit (long shot)
2. Did you buy any kind of flight insurance? Have any relatives that might die soon? *wink wink*
3. Check with the airline, if it's far enough in advance you might be able to get out of it with only a small cancellation fee, or they might let you get all your money back as a credit for a future flight.
4. Check the rules on selling your tickets, you might be able to pawn them off for a small loss (not sure if this is possible)

I know with the airline I just travelled on you could do a "change of name" for 50 dollars. So maybe you could sell it for a "partial refund" if you can find someone that wants to go on the dates you selected.
