Verizon is giving out 100 bonus minutes credit for their users. Expires 11/30/06

Subject to Customer Agreement and Calling Plan. Customer must be current in billing.

You can get this by either
- calling 1-866-378-1537
- or by logging onto your account

Note From Verizon:
This offer is limited to Verizon Wireless customers who receive the offer directly from Verizon Wireless. Readers and subscribers to your web site will not receive this offer unless they have received information about the offer directly from Verizon Wireless.

Caution on this!!!

This could be a website for phishing!!!
to get your name and last 4 ss digits!!!
It does not seem to be registered to Verizon.

MAY BE a scam, so be carefull!!

I agree. If you look at the links at the top-right, there are two that goto the real Verizon Wireless website but "Contact US" just leads us back to the Free 100 Minutes page.

IMO, this is a phsihing website....

And the kicker here is that you MUST give your real name and if you get wireless phone service from any cellular service provider.

And who else would be interested in your REAL FULL name, your ZIP code, and the last 4 digits of your SSN ? Credit Card companies. Ok, so they didn't ask for your address. Anyone can get that from a telephone directory.... and you gave them your ZIP.

I would stay away from this one....

The website is owned by Verizon, even though I could not get it too work. I think it is specific to a certain geographical location only.

Plus it's not worth it since the 100 minutes are only good for 60 days.

My general rule of thumb...

If it asks for any/all of the following:

1) SSN (full or partial)

2) Full "Credit Card" Name

3) Mailing address (full or partial)

4) DOB

I stay away from entering any freebie items asking any/all of the above...

I am not going to debate if the link is really owned by Verizon Wireless. And all of that Internic stuff is valid but anyone else notice that the SECURE icon is missing from that website ?

Anything you transmit without the "yellow lock" at the bottom right can be captured.

So you want secure, then click here or add the 's' to the http header. Link has been updated above as well. Sheesh.

How do you get a freebie if you don't enter your mailing address (full or partial) or do you just get only download freebies? Just curious.

I orginally had in the thread that the site was legit, because I did look it up. Thanks spanz for changing it so people would know :bigok:

I couldn't get this to work so I called the number listed. It tells me to call the main number, which is 800-922-0204. The customer service rep had no clue what I was talking about, so I gave him the link www.verizonwireless.com/thankyou. He looked at it and he himself couldn't get the 866 number to work. So he just gave me the minutes himself. Instead of giving me 100 minutes, he gave me 100 minutes for the next 3 months (300 minutes total). Sweet!!! I'm glad someone said this wasn't a scam because I tried several times to log on!

Same here, I called the verizon # 800-922-0204 and spoke to a verizon rep. He couldn't verify this offer, but did verify the # and the website and said that his dept has not been notified of the offer as of yet. He did give me the 100 minutes for 3 months for a total of 300.....He did say that he was giving it to his supervisor to look into.....So, calling them was worth it! Thanks!

I was going to put my info down after I saw it on the main page... but I decided to check out this thread first and ummm... close the sign-up page.

I just called the 1-800-922-0204 number and they didn't know anything about the free minutes, but told me that they would give me 100 minutes for each of my 3 phones, for 12 months!!!!!!

This is NOT a legitimate link. I tried it and didn't get the 100 minutes. I called Verizon and they said the URL does not connect to their site. If if doesn't say verizonwireless in the header, it's not Verizon Wireless.

I'm kicking myself for being so stupid.

Real?

Well i just got off the phone and the CS rep (jenny) stated it is a real site for vzw BUT it is handled by a diff dept (the promo dept)...

The way you can tell it's a legitimate (read: not scam) offer is because of the link at the bottom in the fine print. It says to go to the URL www.verizonwireless.com/thankyou to get the offer (the domain a previous poster just said is the only valid one) and doing so directs you back to this page. If verizon's own site is linking to this page there's nothing to worry about.

Bummer, I have a business account and they won't let me get the minutes added. And to add insult to injury, I just learned that even though I pay $5 for 250 TXT/PIX/FLIX messages, I am still charged additional money to send a PIX message for data usage. I got charged a whopping $6.83 to send my wife two (2) pictures that totaled 452kb. But because she doesn't own a 'data' phone like my Treo, then she doesn't get charged to send or receive the messages. How dumb is that? I'll be letting the Attorney General know about the messaging issue.

My bad... I put "any/all"... when I should have just used "all"....

And yes, I am picky about what I choose for "free". Sometimes the prize has a hook and line attached to it.
