You are welcome mainegal. I opened an account with Key Bank last year when they were doing the free iPod Nano. That was one of the presents to my wife!

Hey guys, call me stupid but what are:

ACH Automated Payments

or examples of them?

Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments are like direct payments from your checking account to any vendor, such as a utility provider, without using a check or credit card. Essentially, you fill out a form with whomever you want to pay in that manner (they will provide the form) and then it comes out of your checking account automatically on a specific date.

We do this with our natural gas, telephone, life insurance policies, and more so that we don't have to write a check and mail it out. They still send us a bill, but show that it will be debited from our account on a certain day.

You can read more about ACH from Wikipedia.
