/This was perfect for my Grandma, she currently pays $19.99 a month never turns her cell on just saves it only for 911.

This is good advice that some people may not know about...

SITE WILL HELP YOU GET A FREE CELL PHONE FOR 911 CALLS

Effective December 1997, all cellular telephones are required to have carrier network access to make unlimited FREE 911 calls.

Power up the phone.
Dial 911.
Select send and you will be connected immediately with the emergency dispatcher for 911.
Most phones can be easily programmed for 1 number calling for 911. Some phones are already programmed for a long 9 (holding down the 9 button for a few moments) for instant contact with 911.

Yeah, but there is no way to know for sure if your phone can do this until you try it. But Calling just to test things out is illegal. Plus, lots of used phones have a lock code & the only way to use those is to know the key code.

If you call dispatch with their regular NON-911 number to let them know you would like to test your cell phone, they will likely allow the one 911 call to be made. We've done this type of testing with our home phone number because the address showed up wrong on the dispatcher's screen.

You always have the SOS option on phones without Sim cards or service. This allows 911 to be called without any plan or anything.
