Free DVD Rental Deals from - Netflix, Blockbuster, Walmart

Netflix, Blockbuster, and Walmart are all competing to win the online DVD rental business. Good for us. Here are some free trials they offer.

Netflix - 2 Week Trial - 3 Out at a time
Blockbuster - 2 Week Trial - 3 Out at a time + 2 In-store Coupon
Walmart - Free Month Trial - 2 Out at a time

All three of these offers, you can cancel membership online and pay nothing.

I used to be with Netfilx and loved it. They lost a couple DVDs in the mail and never gave me a problem about it. I was on the 8 out at a time program and averaged about 50 dvds a month.
 
do they have these deals all the time. Or shoul di rush and sign up now while i can?

Analysis of Netflix's DVD Allocation System This is the problem with Netflix, starts out great then goes down hill.
I dislike wally world to much for their service.

The one I want to try is Blockbusters new service or greenlight. I wonder if the code Cooper will still work with Blockbuster for a month free and 2 in store coupons :hmm:

These deals will be around for a long time. It's been there since they started. I think all three of them want to stop, but know if they do, the competition will win. :)
 
If you want to do the blockbuster rental thing, make sure you get a friend to refer you for that free ipod thing (i'm not gonna post a referral cuz i'll get banned by like 5 people, i'm sure) then complete the deal through the free ipod site. It'll help them out towards getting their free ipod, and you get the same deal either way.

Also, I've been a member of netflix and of blockbuster's dvd rental service for a while, and both of them are pretty much even. Both have brand new movies right away, send them rather quickly (2-3 days shipping once they receive your returned movie), and send you the dvds in postage paid return envelopes. The whole internet movie rental service thing is a great idea.

Nothing beats in-store blockbuster

These are all okay but nothing beats the in-store blockbuster package, if you have a store near you. last 2 months I got over 250 movies. In august alone I got 139. Down side, dvd+r usage is high. On weekends I would do about 20-25. Now this is a deal.
 
I agree. In-store at Blockbuster rocks. My record was 21 in one day. I cancelled it today. After 600+ movies, I ran out of things to get.
 
hahahaha, 21 in one day, that's sick. my brother works at blockbuster so we get 5 free rentals a week, and i have a hard time using all of them up. i couldn't imagine finding 250 i wanted in a month, like Dayton87 up there...
 
I tried BB online but one mail bump or one mail holiday & your que is set back quite a bit.
You get coupons for 2 instore, but you have to go to the store twice. So, figured I'd just get the instore rentals. After cancelling, they offered me a 3 out plan for $15.99 but that won't make them come any faster. Their Calif center is in Sac.
 
Hey, how come I only get 2 weeks with NetFlix?

Just saw Spoofee's deal link today and liked the one-month free trial at NetFlix. Clicked through to sign up and when all was said and done, I was told my CC would be charged on 10/14! That's not even a full 2 weeks! Where's the month that the link promised?
 
anyone try greencine? i thinking about joing that cause netflix was a lot better when it was newer.
 
In store at BB they have several new dvds each week that are not listed online in their new dvd list.

I just signed up today for this and yes, COOPER still works for a 1 month trial(3 DVD's out) and you get the 2 instore rental coupons. Now I just hope they ship them to me quick enough. :hmm: LOL

They ship fast, but after that its up to the usps when you get them. Only one time in 2 months did they ship to me on a saturday. No shipping sundays & holidays. So, kind of limits when youre going to get them.

Netflix stock is up cause people aren't taking as many as they used to. Either that or because they aren't giving them out.
 
that thing about netflix, how do you know if thats true about how they determin the priority of movies going to users. all you have is some little spiel on some website. all i know is i have been using netflix for about a year now. when i was in california it took about 2 days to get new movies. now in washington i get movies the day after they send them. you cant expect any better than that. and i used to be a very heavy user. the problem with the blockbuster deal is their selection isnt that great. netflix has just about everything that was ever put on dvd.
 
The mail from my city goes to San Jose for processing. Netflix is in San Jose. So that would be fast. Yours might be that way.

I got three out at a time store plan from BB for $11.41 this month because they gave me two $5 GC's when the price dropped on the first month. So I used those on this deal. They asked if I had it before instore & I said yes, but still gave it to me. Three= $30 month, 2=$20 a month. Its great having a turn around time of just ten minutes.

Its well documented on slashdot, resellerratings & some other websites.
