That argument can't be made for the harmless green-leafed plant, though ^_^

well I do not consider mj to be a drug it is a plant an herb. please feel free to walk a mile in my shoes and you will understand why I support the legalization. I am bipolar and suffer from generalized anxiety dissorder and PTSD and belive me it has helped me alot. :canabis: :smokin:
 
Interesting marijuana/hemp facts:

-both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew marijuana on their plantations

-its first recorded use for medicinal purposes was 2727 B.C.

-hemp was once considered legal tender in the U.S.

-14.6 million Americans smoke pot on a regular basis

-the declaration of independence was written on hemp paper

-In Oregon you can't buy or sell marijuana but you can smoke the drug on your own property!

The reason marijuana is illegal is because in the 30's cotton growers lobbied against hemp farmers. They thought that the hemp growing would just be competition for them. However, the
argument has become the fact that marijuana is not as addictive as caffeine, alcohol and nicotine.

More than 400,000 Americans die from diseases related to cigarette smoking each year.

More than 150,000 Americans die of alcohol abuse each year.

But in more than 10,000 years of usage, no one has ever died from marijuana!!!
 
Thanks for the info Zap. I think people need to understand there is a big difference between pot & hemp now.. pot has been changed so much over the years to were it is nothing like hemp.
Hemp needs to be legalized now.. no matter what your feelings on pot are.. our farmers need it as a cash crop. All the clothes, accessories, paper etc. that is being made of it uses imported supplies.. why?
As for pot.. it needs to be legalized for medical purposes if nothing else. To know there is a pain killer out there that doesn't have all the nasty side effects of what's given to you now but you can't have it .. just sucks
And w/ the current reaserch that just a small amount daily could stop Alzheimers progression... send me some seeds! my Mom needs it bad.

I hope they are... they could come check out the draw full of scripts I'm suppose to take that could be replaced w/ a joint.. literally.

I agree with you! I take 7 diffrent meds and some of them I have to take twice a day, I would rather smoke a joint any day :peace:

Though I do not smoke mj I am for legalizing it. Look at our economy and how the farmers are suffering. Just think of all the taxes that could be generated if MJ is legalized! Not to mention hemp clothing, paper etc.. Think of the manufacturing industry coming back as MADE IN THE USA! Jobs, taxes, money flowing back into the economy not to mention you'd probably get MJ w/out all the additives that drug dealers put into it that can be harmful. It could be monitored just like cigarettes, cigars, and alcohol! You do know that RJ Reynolds and companies similar do have packaging plants ready to roll overseas when and if it becomes legal. I feel they could bring those packaging plants back to the USA and create even more jobs! I feel this should be a requirement. And also just one more note: I feel that it's fabulous for medicinal purposes! Great post thank you.
 
last time i smoked I also drank an energy drink and decided to clean house...I started 6 different projects, got the giggles then spent an hour trying to find where I hid my stash gave up and went to sleep...was a nice surprise a week later when i found it...lesson...don't drink (energy drinks) and smoke!!!
