I have personally been working as a mystery shopper for several months I thought I would pass along this info to you. I do get paid and it is free to sign up with the companies. If you have to pay, it is a scam. You never have to pay with legitimate mystery shopping companies.

I used to do this for a temp agency years ago. I have to say honestly it was the most boring job ever. I sure hope these companies don't make you stay in a store for hours, tagging managers, spying on dept. workers, and so forth. I did it once, and never again.
