PC Tune up

Thorough PC cleaning (deleting internet cookies and temporary internet files), clean up dust and dirt buildup, disk defragmentation and disk clean up.

I read that email but isn't that all stuff we can do at home ourselves? I am asking that seriously. Except for removing the dust. That email did prompt me this morning to do all that was listed, and I even backed up. I don't do that nearly as often as I know I should.

Yes, it is all items you can do at home. Even remove dust and dirt if you open and get into the system. However, many folks are not confortable doing that, so the dust/dirt buildup removal is worth it, if your not one who likes to tinker in your machine.

This reminds me that I really need to get my own business off the ground. If you know your way around the computer this can all be done in a matter of minutes (except the defrag which can take a while) and you don't have to lug around a computer

You couldn't pay me enough to drop off my computer at Staples. I did this deal once several years ago. They deleted all my bookmarks and emptied all my saved passwords.

It also took about five times longer than it should have and whatever they used for scanning kept restarting over and over again.

These guys aren't professional repair people - they're just the schlubs who work there.
