Also at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx

Select the Windows 7 Beta version you want to download

Ready to get started?

Choose between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the download, based on the version of Windows you are currently running and your machine’s hardware configuration. Each version is available in five languages: Arabic*, English, German, Hindi*+(32-bit only), Japanese

*When downloading in these languages please note that you will receive future communications in English.

+This language only available in 32-bit version.

When the Beta expires on August 1, 2009, you"ll need to reinstall a released version of Windows to keep using your computer

Windows 7 Beta download

Beta is the test version of software.

Microsoft is giving it away (limited downloads) and the Beta expires on August 1, 2009

Most folks will be going for the 32-bit. 64-bit is for 64-bit processors...

Windows 7 Beta

Tried it over the weekend and it is pretty stable. Read the instructions carefully - wouldn't want to read that someone accidentally erased their computer to install this...

I'm scared to download stuff. I'll wait until everyone else does it first:ack:

I would hesistate in writing this over my current OS. Beta is release to test for bugs when a product is mostly stable. Writing over your OS could create problems. In addition if you do not plan to revert, there is the chance you will lost data in the change back to the OS you have a key for. Just a heads up. You can do a dual boot, as a test but this is risky (go to download.com and search for dual boot) plus read ALL THE MATERIAL. Just a couple options.

No, no one should overwrite their OS for the beta. Make another partition on the hard drive for windows 7. That is how you have "dual boot". When you want to delete the beta get rid of the partition and thats it.
