I recently found a very useful file manager for Windows XP/2000 called Explorer XP. Unlike the regular Windows Explorer, it "displays the total size of each folder and allows you to browse multiple folders from a tabbed interface". You can check it out and download it if you like : Here

Good find, esaver. I was using Turbo Navigator for the folder size feature but it didn't automatically display the size (and their website is gone). Why can't Windows Explorer do this?

Because Microsoft is such an innovative company that they are too busy removing features from their next operating system.

I know this don't help for your guy's situation (I don't use or like the details view) but if you hold your mouse over the folder, the tooltip will tell you the size of the folder. Simpler solution than using and learning a completely different file explorer just to find the size of a folder every once in a while.

Thanks for trying to help Mr Unknown but I think you misunderstand the point of any file manager. :)
By using the program you will quickly see the size of all your files and their types together in each drive. You can then quickly move or delete the ones you wish.
I guess you appreciate and understand the usefulness of this kind of utility more after you have downloaded numerous games, movies, songs, and pictures onto several harddrives containing hundreds of gigs of files!
:D

No matter what your drive capacity, sooner or later you fill it up and you have to decide what you can dump. Revealing all the folder sizes on one page makes it easier to figure out what is eating up all that space. Thanks again, esaver.
