I hate lithium packs. I have a GE digital camera than runs on two AA's and I take 200-400 pictures (depending on settings) before replacing the AA's. I have two pairs of rechargeables I always bring with me, and if needed, I will bring extra drug store brands. Recently we went on a company outing and my both of my boss's lithium packs in her Panasonic Lumix were dead - you can't just walk into a store and buy them, and if you could, they're not cheap anyway. The AA's are much easier to transport than the packs too.

My Fuji S700 uses 4xAA and they last hundreds of shots with NiMh rechargeables.

The only bad experience I had with this camera was the Walmart 2 year extended service plan was useless. Wasted $20 on that- I think no matter what gets sent in, they say NOT COVERED automatically.
