Garmin Forerunner 201 Wrist Mounted GPS Training Device for $99.99 Shipped

i almost paid 25 more for this yesterday! great timing, spoofee, thanks!

fyi- there's a new model coming out that's gotten great reviews, called the forerunner 205- amazon's got it on pre-order for $250. it's a lot sleeker design, looking more like a wristwatch and less like a handheld gps strapped to your wrist... the 201 is such a great training tool-- every runner and cyclist i know either has one of these or wishes he had one!! the big difference between this model and the cheaper forerunner 101 is that it's got a rechargable battery, and there's software included so you can keep track of your data.

now, off to amazon to get me one :)

But if it looks like a wristwatch, is the screen big enough to be helpful?

I thought about one of these for geocaching but Im afraid to spend the money on it..

The 301 version has the heart rate monitor and a few other goodies so I'm going to hold off. It's currently $60 more than the 201 which seems a little high to me. I'd go for it if it were only $30 higher.

HRM on the 301 has gotten so-so reviews. i'd wait and get the 305 if you want the hrm, otherwise i read (and heard) that a polar hrm and the garmin 201 are the best, most accurate way to go.
