Charles Schwab is offering a free Android smartphone if you make a deposit of $75,000 over to them and maintain the amount for 12 months.

There are several savings/cds you can earn 1% which is better if you plan to not do anything with the money.

This deal is only worth it if you have a brokerage account over $75k you trade with not that many activities. They charge $8.95/trade.

Expires 9/30/11

- A redemption code will be given to redeem a free phone on LetsTalk.com

I really debated posting this deal or not. Market's getting a beating and if you were lucky enough to stay out and thinking of starting to "invest" as the market bleeds more, why not get a free phone on the way too :)

Also keep in mind you have to maintain over $75k so if you do invest, you have to keep it over $75k. Not sure with today's market how easy that is.

I wonder if this works for retirement accounts. If you were planing to roll over your 401k into a IRA or something anyway, could pick up a free phone in the process. Schwab seems to have a pretty good fee structure, like another 'discount' brokers.

Well, I'm 1/1000th of the way to a free smart phone!

the fact that spoofee actually put up this deal disgusts me. with the way economy has been, you were that shameless to put this up? come on now.

I appreciate this deal ! Thanks !
Even with 10% unemployment, 90% still have jobs and (I suspect) many of them have money to invest.
PS - I can't seem to find the link about the phone models and info...

I wonder if they'll take the fifty trillion dollar Zimbabwe notes I purchased from Amazon.com. Free Android, oh yeah!

"jeez... didn't know there were so many haters there are... if you tried hard enough you could have 75k..."

Ya I will get right on that seeing that I make 10K a year. I mean I could cut out eating food and save 75K in about 30 years. Thats for the advice.
