Disney world is the happiest - most expensive place on earth. Bring LOTS of money or die of thirst. I think its the only place on the plabet that can charge 4.00 for a 20 oz bottle of water!

The first thing I can say is to have fun and enjoy your vacation. Epcot center is not all that great for kids, unless they like different cultures. You should go to MGM and Universal Studios, if time and $$ warrants.

if you have done disneyland already, its similar to magic kingdom at disneyworld, if this is the case, i would suggest animal kingdom at disneyworld

epcot is more for people that want to learn about different countries, in the eyes of disney, of course. they have native people of the different countries working in the different country-sections of epcot

you can buy a pass that allows you to visit all the places at disney.

you can learn more, and get a discount pass for all the things in orlando called the magicard, at http://www.orlandoinfo.com/

the tourist street is International Blvd, most hotels and restaurants are located on this street including the conventions center. the southern strip of international blvd is nicer than the northern strip, less hectic.

there is also, amongst other things, universal studios, sea world, holy land, kennedy space center and cirque du solei

ft. lauderdale is known for its canals, which you will not readily see, unless you have a house on it, you can check them out on google maps. it has nice beaches and its center of activity is the Las Olas Blvd waterfront. there is a big airport in ft. lauderdale as an alternative to miami (safer, cleaner, cheaper). miami and ft. lauderdale is a 30 minute drive. ft. lauderdale and orlando is a 3.5 hour drive. To directly drive between ft. lauderdale and orlando, you should take Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike (State Road 91 [SR-91]). Florida Turnpike is a toll road and is safer and cleaner than I-95. To drive between ft. lauderdale and orlando may cost 12-20 dollars for toll.

I haven't been to Disneyworld but I've been to Disneyland. The food is so expensive. We packed in lunchables and water for the kids to save some money. One day we bought 4 corndogs and it was over 20 dollars.
It was definitely one of the best vacations we've ever had though.
