Hmm, I used Google check out for the first time today and there was no mention of this deal???? I did get the $10 off but not because of this promotion. Should I have gotten another 10 bucks off??

Nice! Google is really pushing their PayPal killer lol

I've taken advantage of their $10 buy.com discount numerous times, and for this promotion I decided to make an additional Checkout account. I used a different credit card and email, and presto! Another $10 off! Yay!!!
 
I did the same exact thing - used a diff email address and credit card and now I have a free $10 to spend. Yay!
 
I tried stacking the $10 off Google Checkout promo at buy.com with this one.

It's a no-go. Oh well, I can still use it for the other Google Checkout approved stores, great deal --- thanks! ^_^

If you have a second CC you can still get the $10. You don't have to use the card, but you have to register it. You can then delete the payment option immediately thereafter. This might also work to get multiple $10 off's, if you have enough cards you want to enter then delete.
 
Thanks for the great tip. I have also been wondering about google checkout, and now I'm glad I waited and understand that it is just like PayPal. KUDOS! I'm off to spend my money....
 
How do I get this deal to work? Does it automatically discount when I check out? I couldn't find any code after I signed up for an account.

Google Checkout has some Opt-Out Privacy Clauses in their Privacy Policy that you may exercise explicitly (the full Privacy Policy is at Google Checkout Privacy.

There are 2 <mailto:> tags in this clause that you have to email to checkout-opt-out1@ google.com & checkout-opt-out2@ google.com (I added spaces intentionally in addresses). The subject for both are "Opt out" and the first puts in body "Please opt me out of the sharing of non-transactional data between GPC and Google. The second puts in the body "Please opt me out of the use by Google of information shared between GPC and Google for promotional purposes.

I purchased a couple of new Tuesday released CD's (U2 18 hits, etc). Some cd's I only had to pay 3 dollars for shipping!
 
some of these stores [dockers, starbucks, aeropostale....] state "$get 10 off purchases of $30 or more when you use google checkout" ... so does that mean a double discount - or do they have diff. requirements?? :mmph:

It's automatically applied at checkout. I used it on buy.com to get a Lexmark 17 cartridge (normally $20) for $10, no tax, and free shipping. Sweet.
