Grand Theft Auto IV for $27.83 Shipped + Other Game Deals

They have some very good deals on a few games. I ordered a couple games. Thanks.

There are some very good deals, many games being around half off the normal price. Shipping cost is the same regardless of how many you order.

Nice deal. I already have this game and I love it!

These are okay deals, but in no way are these deals great. Why is this listed as "hot"? Alot of the games listed here you can find for so much cheaper on gamefly.com. I'm not a member, and don't plan to be, but I buy my games all the time from them.

Why in the world would you pay $24.95 for the club on xbox 360, when you can get it for about $10 on gamefly?

More examples:

Devil May Cry 4=$20 on Overstock/ $13 on Gamefly

Condemned 2 = $17 on Overstock/$13 on Gamefly

Quake Wars = $25 on Overstock/ $9.99 on Gamefly

Granted GTA is a good price on Overstock. But that's about it. I'm surprised Spoofee doesn't list gamefly games almost every day.

Because there is no comparison. Gamefly sells used games, Overstock sells new games. Used games aren't exactly popular for Christmas gifts either.

GTA IV is sold out for PS3 & Xbox. A bunch of other games are sold out as well, so act quick if you want to get one.

Now...if only they had it for the PC.....still waiting and waiting.

Haha, are you serious? Used games are actually more popular by far! How are used games not popular for gifts? It's funny you mention that.... who is the largest games retailer in the world? Gamestop. And what do they sell? Used games.

I mean, I guess if saving money doesn't matter to both the giver and the receiver of the gift, then new games are probably the only way to go. If spending money without any thought of saving is a big deal, then I would agree...new games are better. But as far as most people who are trying to save for a house, and buy things that matter more than just worrying if their latest consumer toy is new or not, used games should make no difference. The only difference is that it doesn't come in plastic wrap.

Most people don't give used items for gifts, whether they be games, movies, cds, etc. A product loses a lot of its value when it's opened, let alone used. I agree, there is no comparison between new and used. There's more of a difference than plastic wrap. You don't know whose house that game has been in, whose touched, it etc. I'll take new anyday.

Are you saying all or most of GameStops used game sales are gifts for other people?

So if I get a game that is used, and you have a game that is new, how can you distinguish the value of the game when we both start playing it? Look at it objectivly, and you will realize that you a new game that has just been played has no greater value than a used game, played on twice.

I'm honestly floored by the fact that some people will turn their noses up at the concept of used videogames for gifts, be it receiving or giving, espcially at a site that thrives on saving money. Maybe as a newlymarried 24 year old I have just grown up in a different generation, but if the choice came down to buying a game, say Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for $20, verses wasting double of that on a new version, I would definintely take the used copy. And in the same respect, I wouldn't want my relatives buying me a copy that cost that much either. Why would you waste the money? Why are used games looked at with such disgust, like a severed head?

Now, Don't get me wrong...I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater here... I understand that if you are collecting it (which is the only reasonable explanation I hope that you are providing) then obviously you want to keep it in mint condition, even unopened. Fine, that makes sense.

As well, some things shouldn't be used, obviously. But it seems to me that this is the same logic people have with buying new cars. They argue that they don't know whose the previous owner was, etc. But truth be told, it just doesn't make any fiscal sense to buy it new off the lot. Games are the same way, including movies, cd's, and books. I guess pinching pennies has a whole different meaning for myself and my wife.
