Virginia Beach was nice weatherwise etc., but Charzilla had Scalded Skin Syndrome. Poor thing woke up with blood curdling screams the Friday night we arrived, I took her to a doctor on Saturday and she got two shots on her butt, that Saturday night she woke up with worse blood curdling screams and I took her to the emergency room and she was then admitted to a children's hospital in Norfolk and she stayed there for a day a half. After the hospital stay the old "Charzilla" was back and she then tried to take advantage of everyone by asking Sophie (and me) to do everything for her and asking for candy and goodies all day, but I nipped that in the bud. Anyway, we did get a couple good days at the beach and she's great now except her fingers now have some skin coming off them, but other than that she's back to her normal self.

BTW I'd like to thank everyone for the kind PMs while I was gone.

Did I mention that I'm back?:o

O man poor thing,not a good start to a get away was it. What is scald skin? How do you get it,it sounds quite painful.
 
Sorry to hear about Charlotte. Glad she's feeling better though.

Thanks, butty! Yes I have some of Charlotte's skin in a bag that I can share or some sand from the beach toys. Your choice. ;) ;)

Thanks, preco! No idea how she got it, but it is contagious during a brief period and she was in a special room by herself in the children's hospital.
 
Sorry about Charlotte hurting so bad- it's awful when your kids not feeling good. Hope the last few days were fun for you anyway. Glad you're back!:)

I'll try and put some up here later, but there weren't that many taken. In hindsight I wish I took before and after pictures since she looked so sad with big scabs all over her face etc. But I did take beach pictures last Wednesday (Char's first beach day).
 
Aww! I sorry Charlotte got so sick. That is the worst when one of your kids is sick! I'm glad she's feeling better though. Welcome back BD!:)

Oh Big Daddy! I am so sorry that you, your family and Charzilla had to go through that! Wow! It sounds like quite a harrowing experience! I am so proud of you for taking such good care of her and the situation!

welcome back!!. Its hard when your little ones have to go to the hospital, esp when you are on vacation and unfamiliar with your environment. That happened to me when I was little and I remember having to get a shot in the butt. I HATED that.
