the usv ps2 controller converters dont work with the ps3 for the guitar because they dont have a PS button, Sony is releasing Guitar Hero III for the PS3 in October

You can, but you need to also buy a USB -> PS2 Controller Converter so you can use the PS2 Guitar controller with the PS3.

Just an FYI on that. Pelican makes a PS2-USB adapter. CC sells it for $15. Works like a champ. GH works with no workarounds, but GH2 has a special setting on the adapter that makes it work. I've played both on my PS3 with no problems. Just ordered my Encore, backordered. Still can't wait.

Then GH3 and then...Rock Band! O yea.
